The WAR IS OVER!!

Heh, just kidding or am I? Read on and see what the hell I'm talking about ;)

Alright I’ve been talking with a couple war posters and we’ve come to certain consensus on the current state of affairs. The war as we know it has become that questionable dish left in the Tupperware at the back of the fridge. Curious observers check in on it now and again but only for a brief time as they realize how massive and bloated it has become. This is not even to mention the fuzzy eyes staring back at them on the mold. There are a few hardcore hungry people but even they can only stomach the stench of expired mystery meat and rotted cabbage for so long.

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying the war is bad or to abandon it. That is the farthest thing from my mind. Unlike last year’s leftovers, we are not talking about tossing this out in the trash. We’re merely going to cut some fresh onions, whip out the Worcestershire sauce and nuke this baby for five minutes on high! Namely we plan on closing down the current story (only temporarily), clean up some loose ends, update the info threads (like character list), put up an abbreviated summary and then reopen with a fresh start.

Thus, new people will find it much easier to jump in on the action and readers won’t find it as such a daunting task to follow along. This isn’t written in stone, but barring any strong opposition it is going to happen in the near future. It will be clearly announced so people can find a good stopping point or cliffhanger in their next few post(s).

So thoughts, comments, yay/nay? Anything’s welcome as long as it pertains to the war.

Its been good, but I've created a boulder that I've only just edged to the bottom of the mountain in which it needs to climb....this solves my problems and has me ready to start again somewhat refreshed :)

Hrm, well seeing as how a lot of you have already posted, to get the ball rolling I'm thinking of setting a deadline for the closing.

I'm thinking along the lines of almost two weeks (would be one week but wouldn't get much done with NOLA's heh) So henceforth, unless there are any objections the war will end Monday, November 1st.

I was thinking, since my only real submission into this war was in the form of the secondary character of mine that is sorta playing the role as a watcher/prophet, I'd like to add a bit in where he reads more signs, to symbolically sum up what is going on or will go on.

If I do this right, it can be a real cool addition,... ehh.... well maybe a dumb one but the only thing I can come up with.

If I do something like this, I could use some info from all the usual posters on where the plot is going and where it has been. What you think is worth being symbolized. I can take that and turn it into vague symbolic mumbo jumbo myself. ;)

Well, I hope I can bring back Cap'n Jack Waffles in the next chapter (seeing as I should now have time to participate... at least once I get back in Australia). But I also have another idea for a character... though it would require a certain other person to help me. We shall see. I think all I'm saying is that I hope that the next chapter doesn't start till next year. Like January 1st. A good start. And that maybe we all work out on some sort of new idea for everyone to follow (especially new people). Completely separate from this one (though one we can tie in later down the track). Perhaps in a new land as well, though one not too far from this one. (Cap'n Jack Waffles would be fine for that, seeing as he is a pirate ;))

ummm I can see where you're coming from but it's not that feasable there waf,

Mostly because it took everyone this long just to get their introductions over, now we're all just starting to get to the meat and potatoes of the story. Having to redo a whole new land with new cities/peoples/etc would definitely be a step back. That and I'm not all that partial to just scrapping all that we've done for no reason other than a fresh start.

This is not to say you can't expand the existing world, only that the concentration will still be here as it's hard enough keeping track of things within just this area.

As for when the next chapter will start, all depends. Depends on how much free time I have to finish up a "general" summary (which also depends on how in depth I want to go with it) for people and various odds and ends. Depends on when people want to actually start writing their next installments. So yeah um, it depends ;)

What I had planned on doing what doing a very general summary and then posting a list of all the current "active" characters and their locations but that sounds like a better plan...a new character list with updated backgrounds to include summaries...

Well for the time being (in the interest of not creating 82 billion new threads for this :rolleyes: ) you can just post it here seeing as how this thread sorta sums up the first war. I'll eventually have a summary thread stickied at the top when it's all said and done though.

Summary of the Awakening
Upon returning from the chaos induced, plague ridden border villages of Ehrenhal, Enias, 2nd marshal of Elendae, was ordered to march to Bloomingdale (as part of an alliance with Neves and Delen'dun) to take control of the whistle of Alazar which Neves intelligence suggested was there. He rode as second in command of the Ehrenhal contingent (12 Deors) that marched on the city and broke up the battle at the gates between Diomedeis' Dardenions and Ridley Cameron's city guard. After surviving an attack from the demon- kemper, Enias was severely injured during the battle of the dragons, he was taken into the city by Ridley and put with the wounded as the dragon battle raged above the city. Diomedeis visited the injured Enias after secretly attaining the scrolls of Alazar, the dardenion explained how the whistle was no longer in the city, then in whispers more to himself than to Enias told him of the history behind the supposed gods...that Alazar had risen, the dardenion hinted at the knowledge of where the god was and before enias could confirm his fears, he passed out from his injuries and upon waking, the dardenion was gone.
Enias mustered his heavily depleted forces, the fall of Eomund in the battle of the plains, meant now that Enias was 1st marshal of Ehrenhal. With the fear of the rising of a mad god, Enias returned home where he assembled the rest of his forces and rode to Neves. News from the south reported that Taranos, god of terror, had risen and that he was mustering an army big enough to conquer all the known world with Diomedeis as his champion, the god had consolidated in the space of three days all the major cities of the south and looked like he was about to make his first strike on the desert city of Sacnoth. Believing that Sacnoth would fall easily, the riders of Ehrenhal and the legions of Neves prepared to march to Black's Fury where they would await Taranos' forces, should they attempt to come north. Only, through the telepathic link of an elven ranger, Aebh Ithilial, they learned that Taranos' forces had marched into the desert....and vanished :eek: :)

So...Enias is currently on the outskirts of Neves with his army and that of General Drewski's Neves Legions, stationary and in total confusion of where Taranos' army has vanished. :)

Awhile back, I was priviledged enough to meet QT's really awesome friend, Brian and his really groovy wife, Erin. All I really wanted to do was get some coffee and talk. But when he said he wanted me to meet them, who was I to complain? Since I'd been hearing about these people for a good third of my life.

Anyway...we spent the first part of our "hot date" (I hate the unholy quad) driving around to get to this Coffee House that turned out not to be there anymore. QT, ofcourse, gets us lost. We're finally on the way back and it's kinda rainie so he's not even driving as horrifically as normal (kidding...i love the way he drives, it puts me to sleep). We're driving down the street and..

...OUT OF NO WHERE...

...this old black lady just decides she's going to cross the street infront of us..when we SO had the green light! QT SLAAAAMS on his breaks and stops and she just glares into the car at him. Like he's on *her* street and he best show respect. It was hysterical...but we were both far too afraid to laugh until we were down the road.
But, yes, she stole his soul. And I think she put a hex on us, too. It was seriously crazy.

..and that was only the beginning of the night!

Selena d'Meurte

Formerly a Mysterious Vigilante/Assassin cursed to wear an enchanted chastity corset, Selena d'Meurte was the victim of a tragic cloak theft which altered the course of her destiny. While searching for her stolen cloak (which had enchanted pockets that held her vast store of weaponry and some very special cookies), she was drawn to the Templus Majesticus, ancient training ground of the Bloomingdale throne. Inside the Templus, Selena discovered her that her parents were the king and queen of Bloomingdale, and endured three (3) trials, after which she was mystically proclaimed Queen of Bloomingdale and given a huge sword & the Harmonica of Driella, a dragon taming device. She also acquired 2 companions, her sworn protector Archer, and a zombie child that was trying to kill her, Yuvna.

Upon arriving at the palace in Bloomingdale, Selena tamed the invading dragons and met with Derckoan priest Marsolus, her commander Ridley, and tried to get used to the idea of being a Queen. She then promptly got lost in her own palace, where she was briefly put in contact with her arch-enemy, the former Princess of Bloomingdale, Monique. After escaping a bizarrely enchanted hallway, Selena discovered that she was engaged to Prince Starke of Ameloct, and upon her declaration of her engagement was re-introduced to her first love, Juin-Hun, now a Knight of the Order of the Sun. the former princess Unique returned and somehow disenchanted Selena's corset, so her chastity is no longer magically protected. Juin-Hun gave her the information that no one living can kill Unique, a Neverwas, so Selena hopes to find Yuvna, the zombie girl, to perform the deed. Selena likes: black clothes, deadly weapons, and long walks in the forest. Dislikes: former princesses, injustice, people who don't obey her, and dogs that bite.

Yuvna is a girl child who, living in Bloomingdale, was drowned in a well by her horrible parents, but later resurfaced in zombie form, along with her brother, Karan. After running their parents out of town, she and her brother were soon after "discovered" by Victoria Shin, a Mister Fox looking for minions. She made the two children swear tea-kettle oaths to serve her for life. They took up residence in a hidden room in the sewers, and were there when the tidal wave struck Bloomingdale. Afterwards Karan was sent on a fish-gathering mission and was never seen again, despite Vic and Yuvna's best half-hearted efforts.

Yuvna began to grow attatched to Vic as they spent more time together. The feelings were not very well reciprocated, but Yuvna didn't mind as she expected no less from adults. Together they travelled to the Templus Majesticus where they briefly encountered Irwin Archer and then Selena De'meurte. A fight broke out between Vic and Selena but Yuvna ended it by pushing Selena into the gates of the Templus.

Yuvna's memories grow a little fuzzy at this point, after Vic gave her a packet of Selena's Special Cookies(TM) from the stolen magical cloak. When she "woke up" she was inside the Templus Majesticus. Once more she encountered both Selena and Irwin Archer. After first trying to kill Selena she reluctantly followed them out of the Temple and back to the palace in Bloomingdale.

She remained alongside Selena for some time, and half-befriended Marsolus. Her main thoughts were of Vic, and how to find her. After running from a servant woman who wanted to bathe her, Yuvna found herself outside in the palace grounds along with a dragon. She blew the Harmonica of Driella, which she had pilfered from Selena's quarters, hoping to tame a dragon and use it to find Vic, but alas nothing happened. This is where she is now.

The Once-Princess Unique
Unique is one of the notorious twin princesses that once ruled Bloomingdale. The only people that matter to her are her sister Monique and her lover Dorian (though at times even this is doubtful). The first war saw her blow Alazaar's whistle, even though she knew the consequences would be dire for humanity, mostly because she was bored. It appeared the whistle did all it was purported to do, bringing on an age of chaos that lead to Uniques own downfall. She was stripped of her royalty by the return of the rightful heir Queen Selena, and then she was killed by the undead child Yuvna. But this wasn't the end of her, for it seems that while she was dead she struck a dark bargain with a god, most likely Alazaar, God of Chaos. She returned to her body to become one of the Neverwas - the undead beings who have pledged their service to a God, for the promised reward of one day recieving Godlike power and immortality themselves. In this guise she had an encounter with Juin-hun, a knight of the order of the sun, pledged to hunt down her kind, but she escaped by the skin of her teeth with the firm realisation that she had to regroup before unleashing the work of her Master. She also hopes to find her sister so that she too may become one of the Neverwas.

Now Uni's whereabouts are unknown, but she is presumeably somewhere with her new minions Winston and Monty, whom she craftily tricked into her service.

Ok, past 5:30am, but basic character updates is sorta done, well with links to what info people have posted up, clean up of old stuff, and adding of forgotten stuff. Nothing real fancy on the main list just character locations, and current status. Took longer than I thought it would for what it is, meh. Hopefully more people will post updates, cause I'm not writing updates for people who haven't posted in a year :dozey: Will post it once I get some finishing touches on it and will also continue to update it as new info comes in.

As for overall general story plot summary, will start work on that after I get some sleep... :fred:

Ok, for those of you who aren't blind, I have put up the new character list. First answer, no it's not done but I thought the hell with it, better to have something up there than nothing eh? Second answer, please by all means correct me if I have made a mistake but do so in a civil manner. I tried to get everything right but if I read something wrong or misinterpreted your information I did not do so intentionally.

For clarification, I based character status in regards to activation on when they last posted. And as I stated in the thread, I only did updates for active and main characters. Doing secondary characters is up to you guys (or if I find myself with extra time - yeah right ;) ) As for inactive characters, if they're not going to post and continue things, I don't feel an urgent need to update em. As with before, mayhaps if I have the time, though in some cases they never even posted once :rolleyes:

So here's the skinny, post any updates you want to make in that thread and it will be changed but nothing else please, thanks. I have the stuff that's posted here linked so it's all good. I plan on getting all active, main character updates done soon, but if you want to write your own and I haven't gotten to you yet, let me know so I don't do double work ;)

Expect the overall plot summary soon and then the reopening of the war!! :cool:
