Just though somebody might be interested. I haven't read like the last three books. But you know we will always be connected by WoT.

Very interesting. I haven't read the last three books either but I'm interested in seeing how the books will be adapted to comic format. It would be much easier to learn about the hundreds of "main" characters he deals with in the novels. Comics like 'X-Men', 'Avengers' or any team based comic have covered each individual team member nicely which I think has been the problem with the last 5 books- too many characters, not much action and the story is muddled because of all the character exposition.
Plus, we'll get some cool visuals

hmm, i'm fairly certain the WoT comic is only going to cover New Spring, that being the prequal to the series in which Lan squares off against the Aiel at the start and Moraine hears of the birth of the Dragon Reborn and becomes an Aes Sedai and then bonds Lan blah blah blah....
Anyone read the Hedge Knight comics yet? (prequal comic adaption of the aSoIaF series) Now they look fckin good....not saying the WoT ones don't look good...but I really didn't like New Spring that much...I knew the story already after reading the ten books in the series...it really wasn't that greatly needed, especially as the short had already been dne in the Legends short story collection book thing :dozey:
Overkill or what...they should have done the comic adap of EotW instead ~nods~

EotW would be a good adaptation because the focus is still on the clear protagonists Rand, Perrin, Mat etc.
It would seem I have to read "New Spring" 'cause Lan and Moraine were my favorites.

no, you really don't heh...if you have yet to read the final three books i'd reccomend doing those far more so than reading New Spring...yeah CoT gets stick but PoD and WH are good and continue the story, whereas New Spring is just the sort of thing you'd expect to see in the appendices at the end...its really nothing you don't already know and if you thought Elayne trying to get her throne was quite boring wait for Moraines tedious journey through pointless Aes Sedai politics to attain her shawl :dozey:
Though i'm curious how they'll do Moraines tests in the comics...she does them naked afterall :D

From what I understand, they will be doing EoTW at some point in the future after they finish New Spring. That is if New Spring sells well. The bitch about the comic industry is that if it don't sell that don't do it anymore. So get all your friends out there to buy it.

They'll do what they always do, they'll show her from the back. A naked backside serves its purpose but its not so provocative that younger comic readers can't read it.
It looks like RJ is going to be a guest speaker at the Comic-Con Convention in San Diego this summer and that's where they are going to introduce the New Spring comic. If I can't make it to the get together in Canada, maybe I will go. :D I could be the Quill reporter.

Actually, alot of the big companies are showing alot more than that. In the past it was smaller presses showing skin, now it seems they all are. Don't be surprised if it isn't a backside view.

Ok the books are out. Not too bad, but not having bought any of the art of the wheel of time books, I am a little weirded out at how everyone looks. I totally pictured the clothing from almost every nation differently.

I went to my local comic shop and they didn't have any. They said they'd special order them for me and call in a few days when they came in..but the jerks never called. Now I'm going to have to go down there and find out WHY.
