Well, since the upgrade, we've got this new feature called "reputation," and i figured that a lot of people probably don't know what it is or what it's for, so maybe a little bit of explanation would be in order.
This is how it works. Everyone has a numeric reputation rating, and starts off with 10 points. You can see your own reputation rating in you user cp. Other people's reputations are shown to you by means of the little squares. These can be found either under their name when they post, or under their name in their profile. Hold your cursor over it for a second, and it will give you some sort of sentence about the person. The sentence indicates a general level about their rep. Better sounding=better rep, obviously, and you can go negative.

Well, now you know where it is. But archely, you say, how do i give or receive reputation points?
Well, i'll tell you. :D
First, giving. Cause giving is better than receiving. You give reputation to individual posts. If someone posts something that you think is especially deserving of reputation, positive or negative, find the small 'talking head' icon at the bottom right of a post, just to the left of 'edit.' (see second pic, don't ask me why it's the second one) Click it, and a small screen will pop up. (see first pic) You choose whether you want it to be a good review or a bad review, write a comment, and click "add to reputation." Keep in mind that the comments are seen by the person in their own user cp. Each positive rep you give adds 1 point, and each negative subtracts 1 point to the person's reputation. The weight of your comments (how many points you give or take) depends on certain factors like how long you've been a member, how many posts you have (maybe), and what your current reputation is. Also, what you give out doesn't count until you have at least 11 posts.
Now, receiving. All you have to do is write posts that people think are worthy of reputation points. You get to see what the comments are and your point total in your user cp.
If anyone has any questions, or if i forgot something or screwed something up, post it. :)

Well, despite my comment in that other thread, i'll update this now, and give it a little bump in the process.
A few things.
In your user cp you'll see a max of 10 rep ratings, after 10 they disappear, starting with the oldest.
Admins give 10 points per hit, as mike said.
Your rep giving power is variable, depending on other things like how long you've been a member.
The minimum post count for hitting on reputation is now 11 posts, not the 50 it says in the previous posts. You also must have 10 rep to hit on someone else, but that's what everyone starts with.
You are limited in giving out rep 3 times per every 24 hours, and must hit 7 users before going back to the same user again. (prevents flood use of the rep system, or people boosting each other.)
Additionally, you may select in your user cp (if you have the proper permissions) to not display your reputation to others, in which case the small green icon will become a black icon instead.

Have we ever mentioned the numbers for Rep? As in how many you need for scribe and how many for enchanter?

I see that the FAQ has been updated a bit. But it still doesn't say the exact requirements for each usergroup level. Are we gonna find out what they are?

Probably not exactly, no.

Well all it says is you need reputation. That's pretty vague

It's vague for a reason. We don't want that to be abused. It's not supposed to be something you try and work towards.

Awww, mike will be disappointed. He wanted to be the most unpopular one here, he's weird . :p :D
