This thread is for the purposes of bringing to light any interesting combination of abilities, feats, skills, items, etc. Most combos will probably be ones that give power to the player, so here's to all you power gamers out there. However, any interesting combination, regardless of effect, can be noted. Furthermore, if you want to elaborate on another combo, or correct an error in another combo (i'll probably need this :rolleyes: ) jump right in.

I'll start things off with a combo that's probably been beaten into the ground by many others, but i find it amazing, so i'll put it up here.

The combo is about enhancing movement.

First condition, we are going to do this on an unarmored human male. Base speed is 30' (feet), and running gives 120' (x4).

We start out by giving him the run feat. This increases the running multiplier to x5, and gives 150'.

Then, we give him Boots of springing and striding, which double his speed. Now we're up to 300' running.

Now, we give him the dash feat (song and silence). This is debatable. Either the 5' applies after we multiply out his running (giving 305') or it applies to base speed (giving 350'). The wording in the book is left unclear, but i'm going to interpret it as adding to base speed, not tacking on after. Thus, we're up to 350' {=(30+5)*2*5}.

That is quite impressive, and available to anyone with 2 feats, light or no armor, and 2500 gp. Add to this the spring attack chain, and you've got a character who can run 35 before and after attacking, and has the +8 to any attacks of opportunity they may get from running around the battlefield so much. ;)

We can make it more impressive, but the requirments are more restricting.

One option would be to become a barbarian, gaining the +10' to base speed. This gives us 450' running. {=(30+5+10)*2*5}

However, even more strict is if you stick with monk up to a high enough level to gain the 90' base speed. (lvls 18 and higher) With this we come up with a whopping 950' running. Just a few figures to put this into perspective. A round is 6 seconds long. Moving 950' in this time frame you would be moving at approximately 108 mph. In addition, were you able to keep it up, you would be able to run a mile in about 34 seconds. (If someone wants to do the conversions to metric, be my guest, i'm not going to :p)

That's fast. :D

Actually...how about this...

Start as a human barbarian. Take dash and run. Become lawful (ex-barb keeps the speed bonus), and take levels of monk the rest of the way. Then add in the boots.

(90 + 10 + 5) * 2 * 5 = 1050'/round

I'll let somebody else do the mph math ;)

Yeah, I thought of that two, it just seemed like it wouldn't stack to me. Seemed like the same kind of bonus. ~shrug~ I guess i don't know why it wouldn't other than that though.
