View Full Version : 10 interesting trivial things we (probably) dont know about each other

ok this is a place for us to tell little unknown stuff that we've learned about each other.
1) Abraxas 77 is an Great Artist, can work in many mediums, paint, sketch, photography, Computer Graphics, etc. However, he cannot draw an owl to save his life. ("that's not an owl, thats Batman!")
2) Tatum is not nearly as tall as she seems. She's also very caring and kind, which I think doesnt come thru near as truly through all the sarcasm she uses around here. And her Advil really is magical.
3) satan's eyes are really way more enchanting than her breasts.
4) wendy will take any pill you hand to her, without concern for content or consequence.
5) jUstIn knows exactly how to bend your glasses to make them fit right when they're a little askew.
6) Malcor is awestricken by the beauty of simple nature. He appreciates it way more than most.
7) Dont be fooled by Mesaana's petite frame. She gives excellent bearhugs.
To be continued...

LOL nighdairy those were great! Here some of mine:
1) nightfairy has a rampant slurpee addiction.
2) prophetic joe isn't really a gorilla.
3) Tatum looks killer in a bikini.
4) Curtis is one of the gentlest souls I know. Despite his naughty flirty ways! :P
5) Malcor has a collection of action figures which he plays with every night before he goes to bed... ok I made that one up :D
oops I am late for work... *runs away*

*coughs* I didn't know that breasts could be enchanting. And anyways, how couldn't you know that? It's all in the eyes. Awww, thanks NF and wendy :D
Okay, here are a few from me...
1. Nightfairy has the longest, most gorgeous hair I've ever seen. You think I'm joking? I'm not. Its past her butt and the prettiest color of strawberry blonde.
2. Wendy looks great even after she hasn't taken a shower for four days and she's wearing funky mismatched clothing. And I've never met anyone that looks better with a lip ring. Seriously. I wanted to get one too after I met her but I know I couldn't pull it off like she can.
3. Epiph and Satan - They seem more like friends than sisters. Also, in real life they are opposite of what they are online. In real life Epiph is very talkative and social while satan seemed more reserved and shy. I KNOW! Crazy huh?
4. JB - He visits his grandmother, calls his mom and plays with puppies despite his tough man exterior. :D ;) sorry JB, the secret is out.
5. Justin - He is one of the easiest people to get along with that you will ever meet.
6. 77 - He makes the coolest jewelry!!! He showed me one of the bracelets he made when we were in NY. They are definitely sell worthy.

3) satan's eyes are really way more enchanting than her breasts.
 aww shucks.. (of course you are female :p )
i'll try to keep these kinda short :p
1. NF is absolutly amazing.. and fantastically small.. shes below breast level.. i'm supprised she could see my eyes :p (kidding) but really if you'd like to talk about eyes i had a hard time keeping mine away from nf's..
2. tatum does look killer in a bikini and had one of the most adorable children i have ever had the honor of meeting
3. Malcor is one of the sweetest people i've met.. and he laughs at my sister with me :p and gives good hugs ~nods~
4. justin and jon have the most amazing eyes i could stare in them for hours .. or mearly seconds and melt completely... but ~cough~ justin tucks in his shirts and jon doesn't wear sunscreen :p
5. epiph is the best sister anyone could ever hope for.. and the best freind as well
6. arianna lives in a well :p
7. mes is stunning and i love her accent.. it's very unique and i don't see that it could suit anyone but her but she works it perfectly.. ~grr~
8. superadam is apparently either afraid of my hand or in love with his pocket
uh.. have i missed anyone i've met? if so i'm terribly sorry please remind me
3. Epiph and Satan - They seem more like friends than sisters. Also, in real life they are opposite of what they are online. In real life Epiph is very talkative and social while satan seemed more reserved and shy. I KNOW! Crazy huh?
hehe two reasons for that... tiff and i tent to think/say the same thing.. so when shes talking shes usually saying what i would be if she weren't
and also when i first meet someone i prefer to sit back and observe the way they interact with others before i gage how to interact with them

Mesaana
January 6th, 2004, 01:23
Oh man....where to begin
1. NF is one of those magical people, there is no other way to explain it.... she makes you think there is fairy dust in the air, and has you looking for wings on her.
2. Chrono has the maddest time skillz I have ever seen.. truly the time demon.
3. SupurAdam is most endearing stupid 18 year old I've met ;) He kinda exudes goofiness but for some reason you canna get mad at him....
4. Satan gets all glow-y and bright when she is excited about something, like new cool handbags with lights (it was the rockinest thing EVER!) She just kinda lights up :)
5. Epiph is sneakier than she seems... she'll have that camera at you before you know whats happening. She's the stealth master! Also one of the prettiest smiles ever.
6. Malcor is one of the best internet dates EVER :)

OOOH this thread is so wonderful cos all this is so true... like, I really did lose my scarf! And nightfairy truly is magical, the world seems so much sweeter when she's near, and Tatum is so much so one of the kindest and warmest people I've ever met, and jUstIn does have lovely eyes, I can remember them perfectly, I can also remember Malcor's lovely clear pale blue eyes perfectly as well, and his awe of nature is a thing to be awed in itself and *catches breath* and 77 has beautiful eyes that make you think of forrests and all living green things, he'd make a perfect woodelf and he truly is an artist in every sense of the word.
hmm lets see what else?
Mesaana has the spiffiest pair of strappy heels! And they look fabbo on her too.
LT has a marvellous voice, and it's more than just his accent! It makes me think of the marlborou man. Not that I know what the marlborou man sounds like, but I bet he sounds like LT!
Anita Blake used to write movie reviews for a news paper when she was known as Ahl'issa the VHS at wotism.org. Geez that impressed me :D
prophetic joe likes chocolate coated peanuts.
Jonboy sometimes likes to get drunk and put on a helmet and then repeatedly ram his head against an old car which his friends have dubbed "The ass pony". Yet he can carry a conversation about deep philosophical ideas that most people cannot even begin to grasp. Gotta love it! :D
Mike is soon to be a father! The baby is due on Feb 29th, and I am now open to taking bets on its sex :D
Alexia has beautiful friendly handwriting, and she writes straight and evenly spaced even without premarked lines, except for the odd slant, which is quickly corrected, hehe.
jUstIn's handwriting is not as neat and is rather erratic and sporadic, but its definately expressive! He hates it when you give money to beggars and he is also much easier to understand in person than his mystical and confounding posts would imply, even though he talks in exactly the same far out manner!
Chrono is a fiend at the computer game "HALO", he also has a rampant slurpee addiction, although I suspect he just drinks slurpees to impress NF *giggles* oh yeah, when he's suited up he looks and sounds like he might just be in the Mafia. :D
Nachtnoir loves harmonica like me. He also has a very gentle voice which makes me suspect that he's not as beastly as he likes to make out.
Waffles has a hyphonated first name and eats vast and enormous quantities of chocolate, yet he doesn't get pimples or get fat. I believe that if someone extracted some essence of Waffles they'd have the secret to consequence free chocolate consumption!
Dregs is soooo suave. My advice to any ladies who meet him in the future is don't look directly at his side-burns, lest their power overcome you!
hmm thats all I can think of right now, I guess the rest of you are mysteries to me where trivialities are concerned, but I want to know MORE, so everyone post away!

Wendy isn't the cold, evil soulstealer that she wants you to believe she is. In fact, she has the entire collection of oversized, overstuffed CAREBEARS--which she cannot sleep without. I must say, it must have cost a fortune to bring them all with you.

4) Curtis is one of the gentlest souls I know. Despite his naughty flirty ways! :P
Bugger, Wendy, go around spoiling my bad-boy image, will ya? And I don't think I've been around here long enough to hit on everybody yet.
Well, since Wendy's the only person from this board I've met, I'll spill on her, then.
Wendy has (or had, at least, when I visited her) more animals than any person I've ever met who was not, actually, a farmer.

Star - She has the most lovely auburn hair (probably the reason why I've always prefered brunettes...hehe)...its a pity she has it cropped so short nowadays ;)
Wendy - Wow...she has this contagious enthusiasm. And, it manifests itself for the smallest things. New places, new faces, new food...doesn't matter. And the grin that goes with it...hehe :)
Mesaana - The...well...apparently second greatest internet date. ;) Just kidding, you know you're the greatest
Tatum - She has the ability to inspire trust in just a few words. I really think she'd be a great shrink :D
Arch - heh, arch really will eat just about anything...paper, random objects, whatever. (read through the quotes thread ;) )
Mike - He refuses to give himself any credit. He's done a great job with this site and is an AMAZING photographer...just not in his own eyes.
Epiph and Satan - Forgive me for grouping you together...but well, just read what I have to say. ;) These two are FUNNY. I swear, just in the time it took to eat dinner, there must have been a handful of times I thought I was going to pass out from laughing.
Cloric - He must be one of the most forgiving people in the world for letting me off the hook for driving past him walking to school in the rain
Reotwo - Absolutely generous--to a fault in my eyes...hehe
1001101 - Wanders off losing the rest of the group :p
Chrono - HALO, HALO, HALO. hehehehe
nightfairy - She has a country girl hiding underneath the urban facade

 Aww...thanks....though I'm not sure how many people are actually going to know what you're talking about...
Let's see...I haven't met many of you, but I'll see what I can do...
Malcor: He is one of the truest people I've ever met. He'll support you through just about anything, if it means enough to you, no matter what he thinks about it.
Star: Of all the people I still talk to that I'm not related to, she's the one I've known the longest....umm...what is it, 12 years now, almost exactly? She loves life twice as much as most people I know, I think.
Satan (she lower-cased my name, so I'll capitalize hers): She has the cutest giggle/laugh...very infectious.
epiph: She likes to taunt me with Subway, I believe. Or perhaps I'm just paranoid. No, no, I'm sure...she gets Subway and then tells me about it just to taunt me.

Jennifer
January 6th, 2004, 21:45
Okay, I'll start with the people I've actually met...
Buckeye - can be much sillier than me most of the time...loves to rearrange our furniture...used to be a surfer but now doesn't like the ocean
Kindred - gives killer shoulder rubs...has a weakness for girls who use Herbal Essences shampoo...likes fries dipped in nacho cheese ("That's nacho cheese! That's my cheese!" :D)

thanks wendy  i think

Tatum: Has an awesome sense of humor. drinks like a fish ( God bless you) ,has a sexy set of legs and looks good in shorts too. She always makes me feel ilke im in cali when i read her posts. (even though she did pick to be a rider instead of a zombie)
Wendy: wendy grace me with her presence for 3 weeks and im better for it. She and malcor gave me some of the best discussions on everything from architecture to the Simpsons. Her willingness to party makes me want to party. i have to agree with the others that she has the most infectious smile and personality and looks sexy to boot. Add flair and style and what else more do i need to say?
Malcor: hmm honor, intelligence, witty...lets me babble about Halo to him every time i see him in chat :) I also have to say that malcor is one of the few guys i 've met where 30 seconds into the first conversation i knew i liked him and we get along great. I look forward to one day hanging out with him again .
Mesaana: COOLNESS!!!! she drink as much as me, Tells it like it is and is into all the werid comics and other things i like!!! She smart and sexxy and has an awesome sense of humor ...hanging with her i have to say made this new years the best one in a long time.
77: is scary smart and talented and cannot draw an owl... but he is totally cool and laid -back even though he lost things in NY, he just took it in stride
Justin: smart, mechaniclly- inclined , Tells a great story and drinks... what more is there to say...?

Dregsy is seriously cool and funny and the best person to go out drinking with. And he still has wendy's scarf. And those sideburns are totally awesome. Watch out girls! ;)
Lexi is cool and seriously beautiful (for a 16 yr old :p), and she speaks a lot like me! Which is to say, very properly and almost with an English accent, even though we are both totally Australian. Though I've been pretty bumble mouthed lately :broken: And she's not crazy about hugs, though I got two from her  I just hope she doesn't hate me now that she's met me :umm:
Wendy is seriously smart and funny and talkative and yes, cool :p And she is fun to go out with as well :D She's also a good club dancer ;)

Ok, I bet this fine kazoo, that it’s a girl, cos like, Mike would spoil a girl so deplorably he just HAS to have one cos she would be such a lucky little thing… of course he’d prolly spoil a boy too :D but yeah I reckon girl! What do you reckon Amaia?
These are the stakes, everyone who guesses the correct gender gets to gloat and say “I told you so” and nod wisely, oh yeah and I will give them a kazoo :D
Tatum
January 7th, 2004, 17:19
Hmmm....well, I'm betting he gets a girl too. *crosses fingers in hopes of getting a nifty kazoo*
More to add:
Malcor - Though I came very close to meeting Malc in real life, things just didn't work out. However, I still feel I know him pretty well despite that. Malcor is one of those rare men of chivalry that you hear about but never actually stumble across. I can see him opening doors for women, carrying little granny's groceries and beating up skanky guys who get too presumptuous with his female friends. Hey Malc, when I'm rich and famous I'll hire you as my bodyguard. :D
Chrono - I can't believe I forgot Chrono..I've actually met him! Okay, Chrono is VERY imposing when you first meet him. It seems like he's always very solemn...but he's not...he just has an extremely dry sense of humor which, to me, is the best kind. He's got the COOLEST New York tough guy accent. Like I could see him on the Soprano's with that voice and accent. AND..he has experience transporting dead bodies. :D hehe.

Oh I hope Mike has a girl too.

He wasn't afraid to take chances either (remember the pop at the basketball agme or the long cruises that put you out way longer than your mom said to be home) :p Oh, and my most favorite is when he was a boy he looked just like Opie Taylor. Chrono - I'm not sure exactly what it is--I don't think its entirely the accent--but the way he talks is...unusual. I think he makes an excellent story teller. Its just something about the way he talks...whether its the enunciation, or the inflection, or the pacing....something.

Though sadly our time together was much too short, here are a few things I learned of Amaia and Buckeye in the couple casual hours we spent together:
Buckeye: In my quickly wrought opinion, Buckeye oozes with coolguyness. First thing I usually do when greeting someone is lock eyes with them, and his are quite striking (at the risk of sounding too gay :p hehe). Incredibly friendly, not a man of many words, yet still great to have a chat with. Witty and genuine. According to his own wife’s testimony, a very good golf instructor. Has lived on a yacht and a farm. Loves Mexican food, but can’t handle his mother-in-law’s curry. Also, suspects his mother-in-law of wanting to eat their cat, which by his description is some sort of puma. Overall, he reminded me a bit of my cousin TJ. ;)
Amaia: Gentlemen, our every infatuation is absolutely wellfounded. :D Amaia is lovely and charming beyond what could ever be expressed or gathered here. She’s got a great laugh, the most beautiful smile, and eyes that’ll eat you alive. Great at making conversation, which although casual, gives implication of an astounding intelligence bubbling just beneath the lighthearted banter. Honestly, there wasn’t much of anything surprising. She was simply as wonderful as I’d always suspected. :) And even though seeing her photos did well in helping me spot her out of a crowd twenty yards away, they far from do her justice. ;)
The Two of Them Together: I swear there was a gleam in their eyes whenever they looked at each other. It seems marriage hasn’t managed to erode their friendship one bit, and they’re quite playful. They like to giggle at cute elderly couples and say, “That’ll be us one day.”
I don’t doubt it, you two. ;)

February 13th, 2004, 19:36
:D Buckeye definitely wants you to call next time you're down our way, jabb. :)
I've never met any of my online friends in real life until now. And I certainly was not disappointed. As I said somewhere else around here, jabb is even more handsome in real life than in his photos. Also, I didn't think it was possible for him to be more charismatic than I'd experienced through online chatting, but man was I wrong! Anyways, these are all things you folks may have already surmised about jabb. Now I'll find things you might not know.
He's been to Disney at least once for every year of his life. Hell, he might have been at Disney and walked by me when I was working there! He's got these soulful puppy-dog eyes that will melt anyone's heart. Even Waffles' heart. :p He's generous and kind almost to a fault, which apparently is a family trait. He wants to get a Harley and bike around Florida with his father.
Oh, one last thing I'll bet none of you know about jabb. He had a huge salad with buffalo chicken tenders before we met. :D
Our time was too short, as we were all kind of tired from busy days. I can't wait to see him again one day. :)

Satan, as we all know, is delightful and mischievious-looking BUT what you migjt not know about her includes:
#1 She's a reckless, though skillful, driver
#2 She's a vegetarian
#3 She gets lost as easliy as I do
#4 She's a valiant little Wasabi eater, even when it brings her to tears, she chomps away
#5 She enjoys telling people that they have beautiful eyes, if they do infact, have beautiful eyes
#5a. She herself has beautiful eyes
#5b. I put my sunglasses on when this subject came up :p
#6 She's had MANY old men proclaim her beauty, some including direct references to the shape of her breasts.
#7 Satan is taller than I imagined.
#8 She's very patient with me when I don't know where we're driving to.
#9 She's very willing to emasculate boys by pulling over and telling them go ask for directions.
#10 She tries to corrupt and beguile you with things you like (e.g. waving delicious coffee in front of your nose and saying "taaaaake some" in a delightfully devious manner

As some of you already know I had the immense pleasure of meeting Satan today.
*sigh* with many people already having met Satan, it’s getting hard to list new things people don’t know. (Though to agree with the previous satanic posters she is devilishly beautiful and is a real treat to meet) Anywho…
*drumroll*
#1 She loves to argue – mostly because of her charm/foxiness, inability to listen to the other person, and her innate ability to always have an excuse for anything, she always wins.
#2 She’s a man’s woman and a girly girl at the same time. Case point, loves wearing a beater with a pink shirt and underwear at the same time.
#3 The phrase lesbian man sounds better to her than metrosexual
#4 She can raise her right eyebrow and only her right eyebrow in a very alluring way
#5 She has the hots for Worf from star trek, with pictures to prove it ;)
#6 One can never waste precious coffee, reminding me no less than four times to finish my coffee (which I did :p )
#7 She has relatives or relations everywhere During her summer cross country trip she has yet to pay for lodging (and for the most part food) and prolly won’t for the rest of the trip
#8 Her hair rocks the casbah; especially dyed reddish.
#9 She’s (supposedly) very shy in groups but quite extroverted one on one
#10 Did I forget to mention how beautiful she is? :D
'bout sums it up.

hehe, as my mother discovered when trying to say something about satan's...um, vivacity, shall i call it?...to my visiting friends, satan puts on a charming, alluring, sweet, cute face for boys...when in reality, as family friends and relatives will tell you, she's something of a snotty teenager. ;) doesn't mean i don't lover her, of course, only that i can see what those of you with a y chromosome can't...

I'm not going to bother with counting.
Satan....
... is not only beautiful, she is beautiful beyond words. I've told her perhaps a thousand times that she's beautiful, but it should have been ten thousand. Should have been a hundred thousand. And I still wouldn't have gotten it right.
... is great for conversation. She's incredibly easy to talk to, and fun to talk to as well. She was quite witty and insightful, and awkward silences were never a problem.
... will every now and then spring on you a deep subject or personal question from out of nowhere. I adored this, because it's something I tend to do as well. :)
... doesn't like repeating herself.
... seems to have a bit of trouble hiding a smirk. But maybe she just wasn't trying all that hard. :p
... can do this thing with her eyes, where she demonstrates the look that epiph gives her when she pleads for favors, but then you forget that it's just a demonstration, and before you know it you've bought her a Subaru.
... likes good music, and likes to share it.
... wants kids, but no more than two.
... is locked in a love/hate relationship with her car.
... has better sense of direction than I do.
... finds too much pleasure in foiling a man's every attempt to open doors for her, but is gracious enough to let him buy dinner
... can show up on time, but has probably forgotten something. :p hehe
... will berate you for not eating if it's been five hours since you last ate, even whilst you're trying to convince her that you just aren't hungry.
... responds to the scent of coffee like it's a tractorbeam.
... has the cutest freckles on earth.
... is just all in all the kind of girl for whom obsessions were invented. Good thing I'm a stable guy..... mostly. :dozey: hehe
So, for the few of you that are left who haven't met her yet, jump at any chance to do so. I couldn't recommend more enjoyable company. :D

Thought of a few more...
(thanks to marcela for jogging my memory) :D
She prefers silver over gold. Unless it's "white gold" :eyebrow: And she'll happily except platinum as well. ;)
She wears a necklace given to her by her grandmother. The ornament holds some sort of black stone (she's not sure what it is) and a bunch of tiny diamonds. Very nice.
She practices sobriety tests. :p hehe
She's never been to a Hooters. (and neither have I... we opted for the Hard Rock Cafe instead)
She thinks the concept of deep frying potatoes or anything else is gross, but apparently not gross enough to stop her from eating most of the french fries off my plate. :)
She plays with her food in a fashion very similar to how I do, where it isn't really "playing," but instead it's "making art."
Okay, I'll give it a rest for now. :)

I didn't notice any accent in satan's voice. She definitely didn't have any southern drawl, at least nothing noticeable to me. But then again, I've lived in the American South all my life too, so maybe it comes off differently to "outsiders". :p hehe
But you are certainly right about the sexy part. ;)

Satan does *not* have a Texas accent. Excepting on a few choice words. Y'wanna hear a sexy Texas accent? There was this amazingly attractive girl in one of my first engineering design classes, 2.5 years back. What made her particularly irresistable was this sort quiet, understated Texas accent.
*sighs* I wonder where she is, now...

Indeed, I concur on the non accented yet stylishly sexy satan statement. Though as wiggin was saying she's similar to my situation where we have a 'twang' with just a few words.
Then again I could just be biased like jabb  oh well. Or maybe it's just waffles limited contact with American accents? meh
Waffles

Ok, she doesn't have a full on Texas accent, but she definitely has a southern one, and its more Texan than South Carolinan. Perhaps cos I am very discerning when it comes to accents, it would be more pronounced to me? I agree that its not strong though. Epiph's is even weaker... to the extent that it is generic American.

I beg to differ. I certainly wouldn't attempt to tell you whether an Aussie has Sydney or Brisbane accent (hell, don't even know if those accents *exist*). With more exposure to US accents, I'm sure you'll learn that while satan has a very slight Texas sound to a few words, it's barely noticeable. Most of her diction is quite non-Texan, and surprisingly so for someone who grew up there.

I've been told I have a southern accent. And when it comes to certain words I suppose it's so, and it might be more apparent if I've had a drink or four. Certain people seem to hear it and others don't. I think it's just that everyone hears on a different frequency or something. :p

Well, yes and no. Typically, there is no difference between the accents between Sydney and Brisbane, though you do see some idiolectual differences.
As for her accent, I agree that it is relatively slight compared to say, nf. And I'm not saying that her accent is like the Texan drawls you usually hear. She IS quite educated in her diction. But her accent (and it is pronounced to me, because I am NOT from America, unlike yourself) is a SOUTHERN accent. It is NOT like the one from South Carolina, and I know that one quite well. It is nothing like the Louisiana drawl. And it is certainly not Californian valley. It is also stronger than epiph's accent, which is almost nondescript American. So whatever you call it, that is what it is. I'm calling it a very light Texan accent. Perhaps it is because I am very intune with accents, or perhaps I DO notice those Texan inflections. Make of it what you will.

Then again...I'm also randomly Northern when I bust out with "pop" and all my friends turn and gawk.

Florida is only in the south geographically, not so much culturally. Although there are pockets of southern-ness here and there (read: redneck and hick), more so in the panhandle. ~hides from jabb~ :p

Yeh...in N. FL you get a lot of Alabam-in's and Georgians so the Southern accent gets carried down into FL.
My junior year there as a whole family that moved down to Palm Beach from Louisianna and infiltrated my school. I swooned over the oldest brother like CRAZY. He had that adorable accent (..and he played football)! Uh!
PS-I'm not big on Maryland, Mass and Rhode Island Accents. They're all a little different but they all kinda annoy me. My friend David is from Mass and when we dont talk for awhile...it takes a few days to stop cringing at the sound of his voice.

Well, I'd have to see(or hear) how much of an accent some of these so called texas accent people have, people can tell I'm from texas with only a single word, but I don't say that word unless i'm talking to a group. My 'ya'll' has a lot of texas in it, but everything else I say is generic American english I believe, I'm willing to bet that satan and epiph have more of a Texas accent than me, but well, nobody who's heard them has heard me, so perhaps we'll find out later.
But perhaps I just don't believe I ahve an accent, whenever I really do, I was brought up in a middle-upper class neighborhood in the suburbs, where the Texas accent is least pronounced I believe. At least I hear it more in the country or big cities of Texas than I do in the suburbs.
lol, Aqua, you're country all the time :p, although you do talk fast for some reason (the city in you) its a sweet voice though.

i do tend to pick up accents quickly ( having been exposed to many as a child, perhaps) at the end of my NY stay, no one said anything about tx to me. blah, blah....ramble. the end.

I think Australians have a pretty uniform accent. Doesn't change too much from one place to another, but I think there's a slight different between country and city people - in the pace, especially.
i think that most noticeable, "specific" accents come from small communities, like rural towns and "inner city" places. so i'd say that if you live in a place where people tend to settle/stay for their whole lives and raise their kids in the same place, not living far from their parents, those types of places have more noticeable accents. but if you are from suburbia, or from a larger city where people tend to move a bit more, or there's a lot of people from all over in that place, then the accent is more "generic". i think vancouver has a really generic accent, because there are people from all over here, and they tend to move around a lot, thusly getting more exposure to different voices. whereas surrey, (the redneck city vaguely attached to vancouver where people tend to fear "the city" even though surrey is a huge city) has a slightly different accent because i don't know why, but probably because it's the kind of place where people settle. no one moves there. they just breed and expand! :D kinda like the bronx. who moves there? people who moved out of their parents house down the block? (i don't know anything about the bronx, other than they have a weird accent there and it's in movies a lot.... :umm: )
thusly goes my conclusion on accents and their generic-ness or specificity. :D

Hehe... this is by no means a poke at Canada, but I've always found my cousins' accents (they grew up in Vancouver, currently two of 'em live in more central locales... sorta. Edmonton and Ottawa, IIRC) make them sound slightly... er... how do I put this? Mentally impaired. As if they're thinking a bit too much before they say anything. It's very slight, but it grates after a while. ;)

1. She's as cheeky as me! We spent the first night I was down here just paying each other out...
2. She is really nice and generous :)
3. She loves playing games, and is as good as me at Scrabble... we tied our first game! I didn't think it was even possible to tie a game of Scrabble...
4. She is as bad at making decisions as me... as was demonstrated when we spent an hour in the supermarket working out what we should have for dinner.
5. She apparently has nice boobies, not that I noticed... :umm: :p
6. She is very ticklish... mwahahaha...
7. She thinks Wagga Wagga is a silly name... but not Bognor Regis
8. She has a funny laugh when she is being cheeky, a bit like Muttley :p
9. She says she likes spicy food, but can't really stand anything really spicy... wimp :p
10. She fell for the dropbear story... hehehe... so many people have fallen for it...
And overall she is just an absolutely top lass, and I adore her  :D

so as it turns out i've actually met someone from here. guy by the name of lyle. my recollection of him is a little vague, but i should be able to drag up a few memory corpses from the swamp of my mind..
1. lyle is a two-minute-noodle-a-holic. noodles for breakfast, noodles for lunch, noodles for tea. he prefers hot and spicy thai, but otherwise it's the staples; beef and chicken. one day, after eating one too many packets, he will turn into a noodle and eat himself.
2. he's pretty smart, for an idiot. at least as intelligent as me. like me though it doesn't really show unless you get to know him.
3. if lyle were an animal he'd be a garfield (i wont say why, garfields are well-documented enough (most notably by jim davis), for it to be fairly self-explanatory)
4. lyle takes a while to accept new things, but once he does they become obsessions. i can't remember him ever not having at least one obsession. he uses them for a few months then pushes them into the background when the newest comes along. some of the more lasting obsessions include: the doors, wrestling, buffy, weed, nietzsche, indians, robert jordan.. his latest is looking to be pink floyd.
5. he's a very polite, well-spoken lad.. when around adults. when we were younger he never used to swear at all. then some guy taught him to. but still he's generally pretty non-coarse around elders and other respectable people. except one time when we were drunk at a rowing regatta and a guy asked us if we wanted to dig potatoes and lyle said fuck off, but he was very drunk so that's okay.
6. he's very much a family man, which is not unsusual given his large-ish family. loves his mother and siblings very much like a good boy should and tries hard not to be like his father as some boys just really should.
7. he writes a lot of pointless, self-glorifying stories, generally portraying himself as a king or god of some sort and myself as a devil (or the devil) and his enemy. he always wins over me. the stories are dark and extremely pretentious and he never seems to tire of writing them, which frightens me.
8. he's great with kids, but not so much with animals i think, as he's pretty contemptuous of my dog and cat (though he tells me he's good with sheep.. i'm not sure what to make of that..)
9. one time, while camping in fiordland interestingly, he mistook a possum for a cat and tried to befriend it. i was there but obviously wasn't stupid enough to be fooled too.
10. he hangs around a lot. most of the stories i could tell you about him involve me in one way or another. and he's a ninja too, like me (shhh!)

that was a hilarious tangent. good 10 list in general, but i just found this one to be great. :p

So, I've had the priviledge of spending some quality time with the Great Quirkster lately, and I figured I'd see what I could come up with for y'all on the international man of mystery. (and..hopefully this will make him bring himself around to say hi)
10-His car...is awesome:p
9-My mom always said you can tell a lot about a person by the peeps they hang out with. I always thought that was lame. Even though I knew QT before I knew his friends, they definitely proved to be JUST as awesome as he is.
8-He is, indeed, the most tall person I've ever been around.
7-If he had a penny for everytime he made me laugh....
6-He drinks girly coffee:D :D :D
5-But makes up for it with his interest in football (even flagfootball)
4-He's incredibly bitter towards flipflops with the things that go between your toes
3-He has really awesome eyes (which..his brother also has)
2-He's amazingly on fire for God-and even though most of you probably already know that...its even more prominent after hanging out with him. ..and it makes me smile.
1-He really is a Ninja (with cat-like reflexes)

Fizz, you forgot the part where I single-handedly lifted a city bus off the ground so that small school children could reach their ball that rolled under it. kind of like on chappelle show where that crack head lifted the bus off the ground to get a crack rock.

the one quiller i have met: valerie :)
1. she is a good singer. she doesn't think that she is, but i think she is quite good.
2. valerie likes young things of all species except for humans. she'll fall in love with a little puppy/kitten/etc. but she has said 'i just don't know what to do with kids. they're always crying, complaining...'
3. she abhors the color pink and loves aspen trees
4. valerie always tries to be the peacemaker in arguments. she will always stand by her opinion, but she never forces it on other people. we disagree on the subject of religion, but she doesn't try to make me go to church or harangue me about being saved. she always tries to see all sides of the subject and makes sure that everyone has a fair say
5. val loves hiking and being outside
6. she is not a ninja. but she does know aikido. (sp?)
7. she is a very good public speaker
8. valerie loves meeting new people, especially from other countries.
9. she collects bookmarks, i believe she has about 150. she has at least one from every national park and city she has visited, and tons more.
10. val doesn't care what other people think about her appearance, opinons, or faith.

I suppose this means I should do one about you now ;)
1. lost and I agree on almost every subject except for religion. It's a bit odd, considering we have very different backgrounds. But it's nice to know that there is at least one other like-minded person in Prescott.
2. She cares very deeply about politics, the environment, etc.. And she tries as hard as she can to fix the problems, whether by talking to people about the problem, writing letters to politicians, or raising money for charities.
3. lost can be very persuasive. She now has me listening to some German bands too.
4. lost hates white chocolate and baseball
5. lost has a very vivid imagination. It's awesome how she can describe exactly what she feels like... I'm always asking her what she feels like because the descriptions are so cool.
6. Her house is exactly 41 minutes from my house :)
7. lost is very smart. She never has to study for tests or put much effort into her homework and she still manages to get all A's.
8. Her cat Taja doesn't like me. Maybe because I am always covered in dog hair.
9. I'm jealous of her hair.
10. lost is much braver than me. She'll try new things that I'm not too sure about, and she rescued me from a tarantula.

Ok, everyone else will have to wait till after NOLA, but seeing as I won't see ChiChi again (maybe not until her wedding :p), she gets to have a post :D
1. She is incredibly beautiful in every sense. Her bf is one one lucky soab :p
2. She has a really gorgeous accent... its kinda like speaking Spanish with Canadian words... she doesn't have a Spanish accent, but you know that she is Spanish. SOOO cute!
3. She says "AWHO?" Hehe ;)
4. She is kinda short, but hanging around Mes, you don't notice it. But good things come in small packages, so hey :)
5. Her bf is really cool, has a mad car, and said I can the President of her Fan Club. And yeah, they are really good together.
6. Her house is GINORMOUS! And her bf's place is even BIGGER! I thought Mes' place was big, but nooo... silly Candians and their massive houses and too much room.
7. She is even more talented artistically than you might realise. Mes and I saw her yearbook (that she was editor of) and it is one top piece of work. Plus all the artwork of hers... if she didn't want to become an actress (which I'm sure she'd be mad at), she'd be one hell of an artist.
8. She has a LOT of clothes. All cool too. And Daisy Duke shorts. Which she didn't model for us. Though her and Mes stripped off and we had a naked party :p
9. Coco (her dog) IS SO CUTE!!! She wuvs me :D
10. She (like Mes) is evil. Cos they ganged up and tickled me. :(

As first back from Quillfest N'awlins 2004 (!), it's my privelege to commence the ensuing onslaught that is undoubtedly set to befall this thread within the coming days. So with no further ado... and once again, I won't bother keeping count.... okay, that was further ado, wasn't it? ... fine, with no FURTHER futher ado.... here we go:
CHRONO - I believe I summed it up well when I told him, "Chrono, you are the nicest scary guy I've ever met." No kidding, Chrono is as cool as they come, but can also be genuinely frightening when he wishes. Something around the eyes does it... Liked him right away, I did. Every time I talked with him, I felt like I could do so for hours and never be bored. An insightful guy with wit to spare, and perfect hair for headbanging. Makes things fall off of racks and shelves as he walks through a store. If you haven't met him yet, I couldn't more highly recommend doing so.
NIGHTFAIRY - Unbelievable that so much beauty of soul, mind, and body can fit in such a small package (sorry hon, I couldn't help it ~hugs~) hehe... When you're around NF, there is nowhere else in all creation that you'd rather be. She'll strain her voice over the thunderous music of a crowded club just to tell you that she's so happy you came. She's a giver, she gives from the heart, and will touch your heart before she's through. She makes one friggin' hot goth chick! Has "always had a thing for bassists" :D huzzah! ... And don't get me started on her eyes. ~chills~ My gawd. I must move on...
MESAANA - Everything I'd dreamt and so much, so much more! She greeted me upon my arrival with a flying pounce and a tight squeeze. She wasn't shy with kisses either  ... and so BEAUTIFUL!! I'm always a sap for a pair of big gorgeous eyes, but her's I could move into and start getting my mail delivered. She's small but durable and promises not to break. Her favorite mode of transportation is a piggyback ride. When crossing the street, you'd better go when she says "Go" (cuz she's a Torontonian). Did I mention BEAUTIFUL already? In caps? Oh yeah, I did. She'll give your blood a boost with just a look. Looks oh so yummy in glasses. Rawrrr... She's all about pirates, libraries, and lingerie. Seems to really enjoy having fingers stroked through her hair. Also a hot goth chick (yeah, baby!) Honestly, I could go on forever with Messy... she sure knows how to make a lasting mark
WAFFLES - Impossible not to love. I think of Waffles and I think of charisma. A very open and friendly guy, full of energy (unless he's half asleep or unwell, of course), handsome devil... Gots a big heart and is considerate of others, but likes to tell jokes about dead babies. Cannot stand raw oysters; can't even sit next to the guy eating them. Mischeivous chap too. Doesn't miss a single innuendo. The only other guy in our troupe besides myself who had never eaten at Hooters. Thinks American football players are sissies because they wear padding (If you're an American football player reading this, I can put you in contact with him) hehe... Winner of the Smallest Camera Award. And a friend I'm glad to have.
NACHTNOIR - JonBoy and I both had the same thoughts of trepidation over meeting Nacht prior to doing so... but now, I'm so very glad I did!! Nacht is just a fun guy to be around. So layed-back and easygoing, but quick in the brain. A fellow ah-teest. He's originally from N'awlins, so he came in useful the many times none of the rest of us knew which way to go next. And though he'd like to have a firmly established persona of "evil" going on about him, really the only thing I could see possibly even remotely "evil" about him is the look of his stare. Other than that, Nacht be just a big ol' teddy bear. :p lol
and speaking of JonBoy... JONBOY - Funny, he seemed younger than I'd always pictured him. A goodlookin' guy, this one. Soft spoken, but talkative. Wakes up at 8 every morning, no matter how much sleep has been gotten or missed. Finds enjoyment in tormenting small animals. Has a bit of trouble with cursive... especially the letter "B". And apparently it was his idea for the guys to attack me in the lobby and carry me to the room. Thanks, JonBoy, I owe you now. hehe
AMELIA - Such the sweetest thing! And yes, people, she DOES toussel in real life :toussel: hehe... Loves to tell stories and go shopping. An excellent snuggler. Not very soft on rude and clueless check-out women, but other than that, always chipper and bubbly. One-on-one taught me how to say "Spokane" correctly. Used to live in the town of Kurt Cobain's birth. A true joy to be with. I wish we didn't live the entire expanse of the nation away from one another. I need to return a few toussels to that lovely head of hers.
BUCK - If one girl scratches behind one of his ears, his eyebrow twitches. If two girls scratch behind both ears, his whole body kinda stiffens and teeters backward. lol... Bucky rocks! Seemed he could talk knowlegeably about most anything. Is very creeped out by a certain episode of South Park involving Michael Jackson. Likes too much cheese with his fries. Takes his Warder duties very seriously. Once used the term "meat hooks" for referring to my hands, which puts him right onto my good list. Gets a little too anxious in lingerie stores and starts answering the sales clerk's questions even though they aren't directed at him.
WENDY - Cute, cute, cute as a button! Took her for a bit of the shy type at first, but was proven wrong soon enough. Especailly after some drinks, she'll tell you all sorts of good stuff ... She's definitely the fun type, and a lovely sight to behold indeed. Caught myself nearly staring a few times. And of course, the accent is delicious, as are her kisses :) ... Cares deeply for her friends and goes by what she thinks is best. Doesn't have a boyfriend because... umm... well, I don't think we ever came up with why. So adorable in so many ways!
APOCALYPSE - A stand-up lad! Reminds me of one of my cousins, only much more cool. Put him in a goth club and crank up the pounding, you'll have one happy Apoc, lol... Smokes alot, but is very polite about it. Very polite about most everything, in fact. He's a hugger like me. Really likes his new Evil Ash bobble head, which he picked over Stripe from Gremlins. He and his friend Smee became affectionately known as "the Scots" (*bagpipes*) and I'm glad I got to meet 'em both.
LAUGHING TURTLE - The genuine article. Turtleman's a trooper, I'm telling you. Drove all the way from Virginia to NOLA by himself and then hung with us for hours after he arrived. Truly a nice guy, a man of subtle airs and good humor. Is better at pogo sticking than I (which I'm okay with, because he's the Pogo Pimp). Didn't turn out to be the towering behemoth I was expecting, but still taller than I (which I'm not okay with but will manage). I'll be looking him up next time I'm in the Virginia area, cuz I just like the guy. He's just likeable, ya know? Able to be liked. Yeah. That's LT.
TATUM - One hot hotty, yes indeedy. Dresses to kill and knows how to party. She's an animated gal, and very funny :) ... though I'm a bit surprised that I didn't hear a single mention of dead whores or cowbells. :eyebrow: ~shrugs~ She's so easy to talk to, unless she somehow leaves you speechless, like with a smile. I wish I could've spent more time with her in the small space of time that I had.
ABRAXAS77 - I never saw this guy not smiling. We'd miss him for long whiles, but then all of a sudden he'd pop up again out of nowhere. He'll dance if the mood hits him, which it does suddenly at times, no matter where we may be. He too is a fellow ah-teest, and brought some of his work to show (good stuff). But he went out to eat in New Orleans, and came back with McDonald's :eyebrow: Tsk tsk. hehe
*whew* Okay, I'm falling asleep at my keys here. I think I got everyone, didn't I?

Thought of more...
AMELIA - Is serious about "the shoes"... you don't joke around about "the shoes," like I did. And boy, she shot me a look that at first I thought was incredibly sexy in its brooding nature, but as it persisted I felt the need to cower in the corner :p lol... Yes, "the shoes" are no laughing matter.
CHRONO and 77 - Both good jugglers.
MES and NF - Where impressed that I said "calliope" but didn't know what a calliope was :) hehe
PS, I added more to the post above, so go read it again, because there will be a quiz later. ;)

1. He's a real good kisser... so we hear :p
2. The sluttiest virgin we've ever known... *glares* *grins*
3. Looks like a Backstreet Boy
4. Voice deeper than the girls thought it would be... and the accent is more definitive too

6. Adores being spanked (he doth protest too much)
7. Eats too many Oysters *shudders* :p PS: Might explain a lot of things...
