Does anyone have any tips on how to start a DnD campaign in a small town? Cobalt and I are trying to start one and we are finding that the well of players is pretty much non-existant. Any ideas?

well, let's see...
for starters, if you've got a local gaming or possibly games/hobby store, i'd check that out. a lot of times the local gamers hang out there, and often they have tables for games and things around.
you could check out http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=community/boards/welcome
that's the wotc MB system, the very first one is community, and it has a "gamer classified" section you could check to see if anyone else in your area is looking for a player.
get a few friends to try it out a bit and see if they like it. it's hard to get past that initial stereotypic reaction sometimes with people on what RPGs really are (especially with DnD) but it's funny how many people can get into it once they've done it a bit.

heh...that's why i've ended up playing online...none of my friends have a consistent enough interest in playing. which sucks, cuz i'd really love to run a campaign with them.

well it's me and cobalt and we're both pretty excited to do it but our other friends are a whole different story. Those are great suggestions though arch the only trouble is I live in a small town no one has ever heard of.
