coconut curry sans turmeric

hmm somehow I haven't ended up at work yet today, and its almost 1pm. Now, I am no big dectective, but this could have a little bit to do with this also being the first morning I have had home internet up and running. There's also some little excuse about waiting to meet the plumber, but lets be honest here, we both know (you and me) he's never going to show up. Its only the first time we've asked for him. Its a well known fact that the plumber never shows up on the first attempt. I mean its not a national health risk quite yet... so why would I ever think h would come. So here I am at home and instead of heading off to uni to get some work done, I have convinced myself my time is better spent at home "Studying". So then after "studying" for a full half hour, I decided I didn't want to strain any brain muscles, and I have started "cooking" with the added challenge of having a housemate who is allergic to capsicum and any derivatives there-of (paprika... tumeric... basically any flavouring that comes in a packet). This isn't such a big deal except everything I know how to cook has these products in it. Except satay, and its definatelt not a satay kind of day. The new heat outside tells me its a curry kind of day, and what better time to begin a curry than midday so that it may simmer away all afternoon!! Anyway I'll let you know how my turmeric free curry goes. I ground all the spices in a mortar and pestle, vaguely guessing ratios and such. My curry looks dismally non radioactive without bright turmeric in it. I could solve this by the addition of lots of chilli, but I am not so game. However it smells very good. And I solved its lack of any intense colour by adding coconut, now its... pale and opaque, much beter than watery. Even if its not intense. Anyway I'll let you know how it goes... its simmering away.
Maybe I should adopt the use of paragraphs. Some other time.
