    Default Re: Bridgeburners

"We have to go!" screamed Souls through the noise of the cities destruction.

"Where's the rest of the squad?" I asked half dazed after being in the thick of the action earlier, with only Messy and Souls for company, using their munitions and blowing a path through the enemy.

"Moon says they've retreated out of the quarter...they're on the way out...we're the last!" she paused to look over to Moon. The cadre mage was silenty glaring, as if in a trance, knowing that it would be a battle and a half to get out.

Heavy concussions of magic blew all around, "move for cover!" I screamed above the chaos surrounding us. A huge blast of fire rose from where we had just been standin...woah...too close.

Moving clear of the building, we came to a halt, "are you sure everyones out?" I asked again, Moon nodded and Souls simply shrugged...."High Mage Chrono, could still be inside...was he part of the withdrawal?"

"I'm not sure." was all the reply Souls gave...a wicked grin came to her face as she pulled some cussers from her munitions bag...I still got these here cussers, captain...want me to blow us a path outta here?" she asked with a maniacal grin....sappers really did enjoy blowing stuff up.

"No...Moon, if she has it in her, can clear us a path..wait here, I'm going back in to make sure everyones out."

"Yes, sir." the sapper saluted in that strange...what she called "rimmer" fashion.

Diving back into the mess of what was left of the building, I searched...mainly looking for the High Mage...but after a good twenty minutes of in and out, up and down search...he was definatley not there.

Darkly would have gotten everybody else out, Messy clearing the way and Toussels tending to the wounded...they where all out...but Souls, Moon and I still had a difficult fight out of the quarter to the camp ahead of us. Demons moved through the city, some scarier looking than a T'lan Imass...but it was the concussions of magic raining down on the quarter that I was more concerned about...Souls and Moon could handle the demons...but it would just take one clap and we'd all be gonners.

Moving back outside, I stumbled over a few bodies to join back up with Moon and Souls, "We'll take the back alleys to the camp...the main street is too open, we'd be easy targets..especially for the flying beaded projectiles the denizens have been launching at us all night...move out..we're the last!"

As we moved into the back alley a demon exploded out of the shadows, striking me down and throwing Souls clear also...I heard Souls shout something, then looked up to see Moon with a cusser in hand...one minute the demon was there...the next...BOOM as the cusser exploded at its feet..

"Captain!" I heard Souls shout, but I was disorienatated as I staggered to my feet, barely hearing anything except a whning hiss from the too close explosion...Moon and Souls each came up and supported me, "Where's Toussel when you need her, heh" Souls joked...I was in bad shape, but inch by inch with Moon and Souls supporting me we made our way out...a demon moved out of the shadows for a moment, but stayed put as we passed...Moon gave it no notice...

"That demon, soo needed to be destroyed..." I joked, cut off by Moons glare..

"Stop trying to make me smile, I'm concentrating on getting your busted ass outta here." she growled...but a smile krept on her face as she said, spoiling the illusion, but giving me cause to remember, don't fuck with a cadre mage.

Stumbling clear of the quarter, we approached camp...we were clear....and I was in need of Toussels healing hands. Though...it was quite nice having two lovely ladies escort me back into camp

Default From the thoughts of Souls

Since the monsters came we had all been doing it rough. We spent our days holed up in camp, watching eachother with shadowed eyes - bleary, restless, shadowed eyes that had known little sleep in the nights past. We had all arrived in our own way, some alone and some with companions, and we had all come here for the same reason; to find sanctuary from the nightmare that had exploded outside. I myself had come with Moon and Darkly. We had made our way through the Passage of the Sky, a dread and tiresome journey that I shall not speak of, suffice to say that the ghastly coven of Airtran, who regulate the passage, are not to be trusted. We gained the services of a local guide when we arrived, and he warned us that we were fools for coming to this place. We caught the fear in eachothers eyes but said nothing. We had come to Nude Orjeans in the desperate hopes that we might find safety, but every step proved we had been wrong, there was no refuge, we began to realise, the demons were everywhere, and soon we discovered the guide had been right to call us fools. It seemed that we had walked into the very heart of hell. The demons ravaged the city unchecked, and we were trapped. Moon had found the hideout. She cast a spell which I cannot describe, for I have never understood the use of magiks. In fact I have always been mustrusful of such things, but I trust Moon. "The monsters cannot pass the threshold." She explained, and the look of determination on her face alone would have been enough to scare off all the terrors of the city, but she assured me that it was just the fairy dust. I knew it was more than the fairy dust, and that the spell drew constantly from her strength, but I stayed silent and searched the building for traps. We spent the day snatching what rest we could, and wondering how long we could survive. We were safe in the camp, yes, but the only food we had was violet crumbles and tootsie rolls. Soon we would have to go out again.

But then the others arrived, wearily, they stumbled in, drawn by Moon's spell. Refugees of the night, they had one thing in common, they were survivors.

There were the two Scots, who had been fighting for their lives right in the Quarter where the danger is worst. They had survived only by virtue of a safehouse called Tiggly Fri'days.

There was Buk, the dark and dangerous man who was warder to the Lady Toussels, a healer with the poise of a goddess and a midnight stare.

There was Messy and Waffy, the strange friends who spoke only the language of hugs and laughter. There was JB Joe, who wore a cap that squished his ear down comically, and the beautiful golden eyed woman at his side, Tatim, who tended to crack jokes faster that most whips.

There were the quiet watchers who saw all, Doorson and El Tea. The smooth charmer, Jaybernot and the free spirit, Abrax. And there was the dark time mage Krono, who'se powers unerve me still.

These were the ones who came. All of them were a mystery to me, a jigsaw of pieces that I could not place, but we could not turn them away. We grew to know eachother better as the days passed, and slowly this was becoming the only home we had known. And soon, we got organised. No more were we just trying to survive, we had become the hunters. We formed units and began to wage a war. Not for us is to sit and wait for our doom. And now there is the hideout and there is the outside. There is the safety of one, and the thrill of the other. We need both to survive, but mostly, we need eachother.

OOC: I was gonna write an actual tale but I only got as far as a prologue type thingy and now I must sleep or pay the price tommorrow *stumbles off to bed*

    Apoc, Captain, Bridgeburners

1st Squad-survivors of the Nola War

Darkly, Sergeant, 1st Squad, Bridgeburners (also known as Nachtnoir)
El Tea, Corporal and assassin, 1st Squad, Bridgeburners (also known as Laughing Turtle)

Squints, soldier, 2nd Squad, Bridgeburners (also known as Cypher)
    Molimo, sapper, 2nd Squad, Bridgeburners

    Non-Bridgeburners:
Moon : Fey enchantress (also known as NF)
Tats: Elven warrior ( also known as Tatum)
Abrax: Human wizard (also know as 77)
Jabernaut : Human Bard ( also known as Jabbernaut)
    Waffy: Human Pirate
JB: human warrior (also known as Jonboy)
B’obb: human enchantress ( also know as Bobb)

    Then & Now

Then: The crowd had pushed me away from the others, when the hand clapped down on my shoulder. Whirling around, arcane energies caused blue and green electricity to crackle in my hands. A familiar face stopped me from frying most of the crowd around me, and I allowed the spell to slowly dissipate from my hands. Waffy’s only response was to raise an eyebrow at the sight of my hands surrounded by magical energies and I was glad that I didn’t have to explain. The pirate was tall and lean, muscle corded from years of ship sailing. “ Where’s the rest of the group?” he asked. I shook my head with the cowl of my cloak “ I don’t know the crowd separated us”. Scowling the pirate turned and scanned the crowd, looking for our band of friends, his hand gripping the hilt of his cutlass. He was nervous, and then again, so was I. The crowd began to push in around, see that we weren’t going to fight. “Wait here, I’ll check the inn,” he muttered to me turning to push his way back to the Howling Tiger Inn. “They’ll be fine, we need to get the crystal to safety I call to his back. He stopped and glowered at me, I knew that hear it from him later. “Alright, alright I wait here” I replied crossing my arms and leaning back against a street lamp. Nodding, he pushed through the crowds. “I have a bad feeling about this,” I muttered to no one in particular. I hated being right.

Now: The ground slammed into me as dirt and debris rained down from the explosion behind me. I couldn’t hear anything, but ringing in my ears. Damn Imperial cadre mages were blowing up everything to stop the assault on the city. I sensed the blow, rather then seeing it. Rolling aside, a curved two-foot talon from a Lictor demon rammed into the ground where my head was moments ago. Hissing it turned and pulled its talon free from the ground, sending cobblestones flying. Scrambling away from the horror, I tried to get to my feet, but the damn thing moves like the wind and was on top of me clawing and biting. I managed to get one hand around its neck to keep it from biting me; my other hand batted away its other arm having its talon impale me. Swinging it other arm, the talon impaled me through the shoulder with a meaty thunk and pinned me to the ground. For a second I felt nothing, only to have white-hot pain replace the numbness & course through my body. Instinctively I released the first spell that came to mind. The demon’s head exploded in a shower of ichor and bone as my blade, time-ripped into existence from the past. Hacking the arm off I dragged my self to my feet and moved into the nearest alley. Lictor demons traveled in packs, I could see more them climb over the ruined buildings attacking anything that moved. The screams of the dying intertwined with the hunting cries of the damned. I needed to get this talon out of my shoulder and healed. Moving slowing back into the shadows of the alley, I looked for a way out. Things were not looking good. I wasn’t a healer like Toussels, but I could manage.

Then: We had spent two days looking for the gem, but it was hard to question the locals, when they threw beads at you. Which Darkly tried to explain was a sort of greeting ritual the locals did when first meeting someone. It had something to do with an ancient tradition in which whoever the beads struck, that person had to disarm and disrobe to show no ill intention toward the one who threw the beads. On more then one occasion I had to keep Darkly from slamming his Naginata into some poor slob’s skull, and he was from these lands. Our guides insisted that they knew nothing about strange things happening or gems, but we knew it was here. Somewhere in Nude Orleans the dark prize awaited us. On the second night, the group had found a lead and headed into the heart of the city. We spent the pushing through celebrating crowds, reveling in the streets. Near the end of the night our information led us to an inn called the Howling Tiger. Hope faded from our minds, we discreetly questions the patrons about the gem. While we waited, Apoc gave orders to his crew of Bridgeburners to fan out and insure we didn’t have any trouble. Moon was talking to the innkeeper in the corner quietly, who turned pale and escorted us to an unoccupied dining room in the back. One the door was closed and we assured him no harm, stuttered out the story of how some dark stranger who had traded it for room and board. He told us of how strange things happened to those who touched the crystal and how no matter how hard he tried to get rid of it, it would always find its ay back to him. Relived to be rid of it, he treated us to a round of ale and food, which we all needed and tried to enjoy as we gazed upon the iridescent gem that rest in the box before us. As he left us to our food and drink, he muttered that there was something unnatural about, yea if he only knew.

Now: I watched as the demons linger and loitered in front of the protection ward. The alleyway was littered with smoking bodies of demons, who had been foolish enough to get close to me. I was drained, between healing myself and dealing with the wave of demons that had, moments ago, charged down the alley before I had hastily scrawled the ancient runes of protection. Great, here I was, stuck in a dead end alley with a horde of demons, blocking my only means of escape while the imperial cadre mages were still incinerating parts of the city. So either the demons would kill me or I’d be blow to dust. Pushing the hair out of my eyes, I knelt to double check the runes to make sure that it would hold. One of the demons shuffled near the ward “Come out Kaster, and we shall make you death painless” issued forth from a mouth not designed to speak the common tongue Smiling I pushed the ward out, causing a bolt of magik to arc out slam into the demons armored hide. Howling in pain, the demon scrabbled away from the alleys entrance. “ Very well Kaster, we shall see how brave you are when our master arrives”. Narrowing my eyes, I felt the pit of my stomach drop away. These were lower demons, the drones and soldiers of the underworld. Their “master” meant a Fade was coming, or worse a Demon lord. That didn’t leave me much time, but then again Time was craft. I glance around the alley, my mind searching for a way to escape. I could age the stone dust and make an escape through one of the wall perhaps? “Not likely “ a small voice crooned into my ear. “If your not going to help Sh’ Tar, then shut it” I snapped back at my familiar. Crawling out from the folds of my cowl, the imp shrugged his tiny shoulders. “Might I suggest you release us master?” his eyes blazing violet with his suggestion. I shook my head; I didn’t have the energy or the stomach for that price. Sh’ Tar kept quiet, privy to my thoughts, he knew better then to push the issue, besides he knew I would have to make a choice sooner or later.

Then: We had all answered Moon’s arcane summons to come to the city of Nude Orleans. She had sensed the revealing of the crystals of Emotions. These gems and crystal harnessed the energy of the seven deadly sins, augmenting those emotions. Causing the wielder to be driven to commit acts of atrocity to satisfy those sins. Moon had kasted spells and contacted warrior and enchantresses whom she had met on her travels. They came from every corner of the world. Warriors from the highlands, Enchantresses from the winter lands. The Bridgeburners themselves fought through the Orc-lands just to answer her summons, the pirate Waffy and his crew sailed through vile waters of the Lowers Seas to dock in Nude Orleans port. They came to keep the dark from advancing and to find the gems and keep them away from those who would use them to further evil and corruption I myself came to honor the pact I made with Moon long ago. We arrived to a city overrun with monsters and demons. We spent the first night, fighting for our lives, keeping each other safe. The next morning the Imperial troops and mages finally arrived, clearing out the city and reactivating the runes of protection. The city allowed itself a sigh of relief, and we thinking we were safe. We were wrong.

    Default Re: Bridgeburners part 2

Now: Time slowed and began to draw out as far as I could manage, a second became a minute, and a minute became fifteen minutes. Slowing time and stretching it out was draining and it left me open to assault, but I had no other choice. The Demon Lord was already hacking away the protection ward, slowly but surely his black blade would smash through the wards I placed. I had little time to escape. Breathing in deeply, I cast out my time sense to the immediate future looking for a time I could lock on and jump to. Scying across the city to the inn we had taken shelter in the first night. There upon the roof, Dawson stood firing and endless barrage of crossbow bolts into the mass of demons below. The entrance to the inn block by piles of demon bodies with enchanted bolts protruding from them, like quills on a porcupine. Turning to the south I saw Waffy hacking his way out the quarter, his cutlass dark with blood. N’emo his loyal land-shark tearing any demon to ribbons, which managed to escape the pirates wrath. I gazed back towards the Howling tiger, past the debris, past the soldiers and demons fighting tooth and nail to where Moon was. Her Farie magik, distinctive from the black magik of the fade and the demon lords, brighter then any cadre mage’s spell. There she was, along side Apoc and Souls, fighting their way through a knot of demons. With grim determination lining their faces they made their way to the side of the building, explosion rocking the streets around them. Apoc took lead slamming his battle-axe into the demon leaping at them, cleaving the vile beast into two and showering the others in blood. Smiling he motioned to the next demon to receive Death’s embrace. The demons paused unsure why these three were not running in terror. That was the demons first and last mistake, as thorny vines erupted from the ground, Moon’s hands and eyes glowing a pale magenta directing the vines to ensnare and trapped them in place. The last thing the demons saw before being obliterated from this plane of existence was Souls, leaping over Moon laughing manically as plasma cussers flew from her hands like fireworks, exploding as they met unholy flesh. Reaching out I tried to lock in that timeframe anchored by moon’s magik. The rip just began to shimmer into existence, and blinked out as Moon twirled casting fairy dust around into the air, causing any magik, except for faerie magik to dissipate. Damn that faerie powder! I poured all of my senses into the spell, trying to glean past her cloaking spell. Damn again that dust that she sheds! I reached out, trying to lock onto anything, but there was nothing to grab onto. Glancing over to the entrance, the demon was just about to breakthrough the ward. Magik energy was arcing out in all direction as his sword sliced through the ward.

Then: Moon and Souls were arguing in one corner of the inn, about the plan for Darkly to smuggle the gem out of the city this night. No one tried to interfere in their argument, I don’t blame them, I wouldn’t want to get in between a Cadre Mage & a Fe either. Maybe I was feeling cocky, or maybe it was the way I saw how the streams of time were moving, but I got a thought into my head and I went with it. Moving across the common room of the inn, I made a big show bout pulling Darkly aside and whispering to him. He nodded and reached into the pouch tied around his waist, handing me the wrapped bundle within. Turning I stashed the package within the fold of my cloak. Eye & ears that were watching us, took note and carried that information out into the night. Moon stalked past me, her argument with the bridgeburner ended to no one’s liking. I was foolish enough to reach out and try to talk to her. I receive a withering look and a crackle of fey magik to snap at my hand. That settled I moved toward the exit, passing Souls on the way out, her aura crackling around like a blood-red nimbus, warning me bout how she would react to anyone. Drawing my cowl over my head throwing my face into darkness, I stepped into the night air.

Now: I sensed magik off to the east and I turned the eye within my mind, the eye that could see the twist of energy that we called magik, sparking off in the distance. Most of the demons I had dealt with were scouts, the vanguard of the main force. The rest of the group were dealing with overwhelming numbers. My mind could not comprehend the sheer mass of demons that flowed toward them, and how they were keeping them back.

His camo-cloak wrapped around him, Buk danced in and out of view where the demons were the thickest. His sword a silver blur that brought death to everything which came near him. Vile things slashed each other in attempts to wound the shadowy blur, which sent so many of them back to the nether plane. Grim determination lined his faced, as his only thought was to keep as many of the force from reaching the rest of the group.

El Tea was right behind Buk, but where as the Gadin warrior flowed, he stalked across the blood drenched cobble stones. Throwing blades of the purest silver that flew in every direction from his hands in precision snapping moves. Tainted warrior screamed as the blades pierced unholy flesh and fall to the ground, clawing the blades from their wound. Those unlucky enough to get to close to him would never see his sword unsheathe and take their lives from them. The assassin’s speed was astonishing and brought even more of the enemy’s numbers down.

Darkly’s face was contorted with rage, Nude Orleans was his city and he showed his displeasure with his Naginata. The huge warrior use all of his strength to made the blade on the end of the staff to whistle. Whirling his weapon, demons lost their heads to bounce down the street. Snarling, he skewered a fade before it knew what had happened and vaulted it over the rooftops. Those demons that thought themselves lucky to get past Buk and El tea, became unlucky as Darkly showed them his deadly craft.

Jabernauts spear hummed in the air as he brought it crashing down upon the demons, send sparks into the night as metal meet sinew and bone. When the spear left his hand it punch through armor and demon hide alike, returning to his hand by the holy enchantments placed upon it. The bard sang as he fought along side assassin, warriors and Gaidin, giving them courage to fight harder and to give them hope that they would last the night.

JB kept the horde from flanking the group, firing an ancient weapon which spat metal. Wherever he pointed the weapon, holes blossomed in the demons showering the sides of taverns and inns alike in ichor and gray matter. His gaze brought death to any foul thing foolish enough to press toward the group. The weapon thundered and bucked in his hands the point glowing red hot. A glowing beacon in the night, which herald the enemies’ demise.

Abrax stood along side JB, his creations springing forth from parchment & brush. His brow furrowed, for he did not relish sending his creations to their doom, or to use his gift to create things that kill. These brightly colored works of art, beautiful to behold, yet terrifying as the waded into the legion of darkness, to rend, to tear and smother.

As fearsome as this sight was, as deadly as warriors were, if it were not for the women of the group, all would have been lost.

The runes etched upon Tat’s body glowed transferring fire from her essence into her staff. Any struck by her staff died on the spot screaming as flames hotter then the hellfire which spawned them reduced them to ash. Fades lashed the horde to send waves upon waves to overrun her. Slamming her staff into the ground she sent shockwaves hurling into the mass, scattering flaming bodies to the wind.

Toussels hands, the hands that cure so many wounds, soothe so many aches and pains, were now unleashing massive bolts of magikal energy. The bolts arc down the street exploding the cobblestones sending white-hot bits shrapnel into the Demon spawn. Hundreds of demons and fades died allowing the group to move up the street. I knew that when push came to shove, healers could kast with the best of us, but the sheer amount of arcane energy she was throwing was staggering. Toussel had only one thought protect her friends and that is what fueled her.

Messy sent glowing plasma cussers into the knots of demons left dazed by Toussels attack. The cussers exploding drowning out her screams of fury. Demons screamed and covered their eyes as she sent flash bang cussers to blind and further confuse the demons, which in turn would be struck down by one of the men. Messy would run out of cussers soon, and knowing cadre mages, she would start using her craft to make every day objects explode

B’obb kept the rest of the demons from surrounding them. Lighting from the night sky would shudder down and gather at her fingertips, only to be hurled at the vile things gathering behind them. Her eyes white and sparking, kept them at bay, not wanting to die jerking and spasm in the street. The ebon enchantress, with the silver hair laughed as she showed this urban landscape and the horde that invaded, why they should fear nature.

    Default Re: Bridgeburners part 3

Then: The street was filled with revelers, staggering in and out of the inns, toasting to the imperial guard for driving the unholy hordes from the city. Ignoring those who bumped and pushed into me, I pushed my way to the streetlamp. Once there I sighed and allow my hourglass pupils to dilate, gleaning the rifts and streams of time itself. The crowds disappeared along with the town itself to the mists. Narrowing my eyes and focusing my energies, I tried to see past the mist, to glean what the future would bring. The mist parted for but a moment, there in the middle of a cobblestone street stood Apoc, the leader of the Bridgeburners, covered in blood, screaming a war cry, his sword pointing north. The mist swirled and reality came back into focus. Fate did not like time mages to glean, so the vision we see are sketchy a best. The bridgeburner commander’s path was violent and war & battle was his trade that did not concern me, I had witnessed his battle prowess before. It was that fact that he was pointing north, toward the winterlands. The thought scattered to the wind when the hand clapped down on my shoulder.

Now: The demon lord slammed into me pushing the two of us into the time rip. White light engulfed us as we moved through time and space, blinding my senses until the darkness of unconsciousness swallowed me into its embrace. Sh’tar talons clawing at my face brought the world of consciousness and pain back. “ Wake up fool” he hissed into my ear, clawing my face again for good measure. As my vision cleared, I saw the Demon lord kneeling a few steps away, smoke curling from his armor. He was leaning heavily upon his sword; breathing labored breathes that sent soot and brimstone into the air assaulting my nose. He was trying to shake off the effects of passing through the time jump. Time jumping was painful for time mages like myself, nearly fatal for those not schooled in the arts. The fact that this Lord could withstand this amount of punishment made my blood run cold. Sh’tar claws brought pain and clarity of mind ”focus fool” his voice whispering into my ear, trying to keep the demon from noticing us. The courtyard was in ruins; the soldiers and civilians were lying amongst the demons that had followed their master through the rip. Humans and demon were dazed and confused alike. Both knocked senseless from the concessive entrance of my spell. “Release us Master or we will die” the imp pleaded. The moment had arrived which I had spent so much energy trying to avoid. Now I had to make that choice. Reaching out with a bloody hand I marked my symbol upon the imps head “ I release you sh’tar to arms, to war, protect thy master with you wrath” the imps eyes blazed violet, and began to shudder as the arcane chains I forged to bind him to my service disappeared. The imp morphed into a full-fledged demon in a space of a heartbeat and split into his myriad forms. One demon split into two, two into four until a hundred of him filled the courtyard That was his namesake Sh’tar translate into the common tounge as “one who is many”. Cackling with glee the many sh’tars set upon the demons, draining their energy and feasting upon unholy rotting flesh. One of the maidens began to scream as she watched demon kill demon, fearing she would be next to fall upon Sh’tars claws and fangs. She had nothing to fear from Shtar, she really needed to be afraid of me.

Then Our group had cleared a path through the mass and began to make their way out of the quarter. Tats insured that no demon would follow, slamming her staff into the ground causing a wall of fire to rise from the earth below. This volume of arcane energy blinded me for a moment; I had to look away, losing sight of the group. My luck however held enough for me to notice an imperial mage with some soldiers defending a courtyard a few blocks away. The mage’s shield allowed me to lock onto that timeframe, and the rip shimmered into existence. Smiling I chuckled to myself, thinking I was going to get away with this, when the demon lord slammed into me.

Now Sh’ tar’s attack had roused the demon lord from his confusion. His black sword cutting demon and human alike as he made his way towards me “the crystal Kaster!” he bellowed as he cleaved one of the Sh’tars and one of his number into two messy halves. Silently I asked the locals for forgiveness as I stole time from them. A second, a minute, an hour as I pulled from them, aging them as I used their stolen energy to power the spell, which would rid me of the monstrosity once and for all. Months became years, their flesh wrinkled, their hair losing its luster to become brittle and gray. The energy coalesced in my hands, filling me with power and strength, healing my wounds, but tainting my soul. The demon reached me, his sword over his head to strike me down “you die kaster”. My eyes blazing with the stolen energy stopped him from spraying my blood across the courtyard. “No” was the only word I spoke as my spell ripped him from this plane of reality and sent him to the end of time. Entropy would do my dirty work, rendering him into nothingness. Back in the present all that was left was his cry of anger and frustration, dead humans from my hands and dead demons from Shtar. I slumped down to the cobblestones, drained from the horrors of the night. “Well haven’t we been a bad boy” shtar’s voice jabbed into the night air” very bad indeed”. The cry of displeasure from him as I slammed the arcane of chains of binding on him did not ease my conscience.

Later: We had all made it back to the inn. The bodies around our sanctuary were cleared away and Waffy’s crew kept the watch until the dawn. We had all survived the night with minor cuts and bruises, except for Moon who had demons claws shred on of her wings. Toussel healing hands ensured that by the next day, her wing would be as good as new. I kept away from Toussels as best I could, until she cornered my in the common room. Her hands upon my face, her eyes closed as her magik washed over me. “Your fine “ she said smiling at me, but her eyes said otherwise. She wasn’t going to press the issue and I was grateful for it. Moon & Waffy on the other hand, barrage me with questions and complaints on how darkly and I came up with the plan to distract the dark powers to follow me. “Tis done, we survived” I replied Waffy scowled but left it alone. Moon on the other hand gazed at me with those ice blue fey eyes of her. “ I see the darkness within you” I turned and looked at her “ Perhaps you are mistaken” was my only reply. Moons straighten up haughtily “ Glean for me” she commanded. Biting down a laugh “ Glean for you? Moon laughed, sending the sound of bells tinkling into the air “ glean for me & I will forget what I’ve seen” I scowled at her and then sighed “ Very well. Call the others” Once assembled, my pupils blazed once again the gleaning was told. The winterlands called to us and we responded.

And apoc sat down and shook his head whilst gazing at the axe that lay in his hands..."since when did i use an axe?" he questioned his confused mind...looking down at his clothes, his eyes widened in shock...he stood up abruptly, casting the axe aside...as he stood he could see the rest of his squad and marched up to them, they all wore foreign clothing, sexy silks and armour that looked to be designed by Hood himself...he looked upon them and whispered to himself..."i've strayed into a dream, i must be asleep"...a hand clapped on his shoulder and he spun to face the cadre mage, Chrono.

"what is this? where are our uniforms!" Apoc ordered angrily to the dark cloaked mage who merely cackled in dark amusement, "our uniforms dammit!" more laughter erupted from Chrono...apoc turned, somewhat lost, he marched back to where he had sat when he had awoken here, "how innapropriate." he muttered as he gazed once more on the fancy uniforms of his squads.
