New war?

I want to know how many people would participate if we began anew, again. Lyle is interested, despite his self-imposed leave of absence. Cassander, I think, is always up for it. And wendy just posted, which is an encouraging sign.

As mentioned in the other thread, I have an introduction. Rather than go through the process of generating new circumstances, which is fun, but oh so dawdly, I thought, if people were game, I would just post what I've come up with. Then people could create their characters, perhaps tailoring them to the brave new world, or taking one of the world characters I've invented for it, or whatever. Rather than waste my breath much more, I'll just say that I (and Lyle too, he told me) really miss writing alongside other people; that is, you other people.

I never have enough time to keep up with the War. I always just read it and make characters. If you guys make a new War, Id happily make some new characters again and include mini stories of them in the War for added depth.

i'd be in. i only haven't been in this last war because when it started i didn't have my own comp with net access. plus, once it's going i just never wanted to take the time to try and jump in somewhere. i was actually thinking i'd like a new war anyway, but i wasn't going to cut anyone off.

I'd certainly be interested. I've always been vaugely bothered that I left grangir hanging the way I did, but that was a... different life... *shakes head*... but here we are... SO.... with that said...

i'd love to...i'm always up for a wee tale to sporadically jump and try to weave into everyone elses tales from my dreams, nightmares and daydreaming thoughts...but at the mo...i'm kinda distracted with thailand and cambodia...and writing another script whilst revising my firstdraft...i do have a wee tale i was slowly gonna try and write in the fixtion and prose section...so gah...longwided sorry...basically i say...yes, but don't hold me to it dammit! :broken:

well, I wrote an entirely new introduction. the first ended up being three posts long, but you'll never see that anyway, not in this universe.

you'll have to excuse the more pretentious elements in this intro. they weren't intentional, but it proved impossible to block the flow of pretentiousness from my brain. also the title is... bad... but after a hundred ideas I had to admit that I didn't really know what the war was about (besides being an excuse to write nonsense)

the quills been barren of new stories for a disturbingly long while now...the likes of the fiction and prose section for me has so many starter tales that just, in my mind anyway (and i know cause i've started a fair few in there aswell) have no drive to be completed, coz the writers know their tale and as they're not being pushed for it they never put the time aside to complete them.

The War though, for me, has always been a great inspiration, constantly evolving with having to weave your ideas with the other awesome writers, pushing you to write and continue a story for a longer period of time, driving you to create a tale and finish it with friends and its always been entertaining cause you never quite know where the story is going...will the next post be a wacky dilemma for you to get your character through, to somehow traverse past it...

anyways, i don't know why, but for me writing with others in the wars of the past has always been awesome and has got me scrambling to get through different situations i'd never dreamed of...i've always found it greatly challenging and fun and its opened my mind to so many different ideas...writing styles and new plot paths...i've also absolutely loved comin on the quill and reading a new war installment.

i want to write with quillers again. The Bluehouse Fables i found just had no interaction amongst any of its writers (i tried but with no base plot, every writer just ended up doing their own thing) and the most recent war, though i loved reading it...i found it moved away from being about beasts hunting for princesses to a dominating storyline that was similar in form to the blue house fables, singular in its writing rather than as a group ~shrugs~

i don't know what anyone else wants to do, but i'd really love to write with you fine amazing quillers again. Whether it be finalizing previous wars or starting a new one or having another writing competition, the quills been quiet of late and for me a main reason is the lack of creative cravings for writing fiction/fantasy here again...i'm probably wrong...i've just always enjoyed being drawn from my own stories to write in a world not of my creation to weave a tale amidst tales of others to move through a story with constant suprises as to were my character will go...if that makes any sense...simply i miss writing here, i miss writing with you lot and want to do it again.

I'm thinking I'll start another war anyway - whether or not anybody else is interested. Brainstormed yesterday and have several pages of notes. Basically I want to do the exact opposite of what I tried with the Blue House Fables; so instead of formlessness I'll write a prologue with enough details, characters, motives, plots and sub-plots to form the basis of a gargantuan novel, then set it loose here like a clown juggling bulls in a fine china emporium on the moon. . . Whistle if you're in.

i really want to be in, but for some reason, it's random if it strikes me. i wanted to be in with the blue fables too, and i thought it was a fun idea, but for some reason inspiration never struck, so i stayed out. anyway, i'm interested.

What I was thinking about was doing a much smaller scale war. Maybe the setting is two neighboring cities. Um... in a secluded mountain valley. by a lake. makes the time issue more trivial, since travel time is not a big deal. (say, half a day's ride around the lake to the other city.) and it just seems a little less likely to get out of hand with that scale.
