Default Non a Libri Dolus: Ist Month

Okay people. This is the 'not a book club. We are kicking things off with, as you may know, The Alchemist, by Paulo Coelho. I don't foresee any problems. If you can't find this book, then chances are you live in the forest, and I don't know how you're even accessing the internet right now.

We have three weeks starting from today. Until then, please refrain from discussing the contents of the book. Anything else: comments about the author, questions or problems, are prefectly welcome. Talk about the cover-art if you like.

That said, it is a short-ish book, so if it looks like everybody has finished reading well before schedule we'll stop prematurely and get down to business

I am planning on getting this book sometime later this week and I'll probably read it this weekend.

Looking forward to what this might become, cheers.

I bought it and by crikey it was expensive for such a wee little thing! This better be good james *grumbles* if its anything like that wanky khalil gibran (also known as kellogs allbran, and full of less substance if you ask me) then I will have alot to say about this book. Cos it looks suspiciously similar (ok... the guy at the bookshop got them mixed up when I asked about it and it put me on extreme wanker alert)

Also I object to your arbitrary poll James. I think life is inherently meaningful and there is no box for me to tick, all meaninglessness is imposed by the process of OVERSIMPLIFICATION. An example of whichcould be a Kellogs Allbran book, or a question like "is life inherently meaningless?" hmm am I getting ahead of myself here?

Oh yeah. Well even the idea of meaning itself can be said to be meaningless. By me.

I am shocked....shocked that you dismiss Wendy in such a fashion!

I will try to get the book this weekend.

eheheh. i've read that but didn't buy...just borrowed.
hmmm... i can't remember much of it but i do remember that after reading it i wasn't too happy with it...kinda like i didn't get the substance i was expecting. anyways, i hope you'll like it better than i do wendy, and not be sorry you spent much on that tiny book.

I'm of the opposite mind Amyrlin. Part of me is hoping the book sucks just to see wendy flip out more. Does that make me a bad person? Probably.
