My condolences to Harriet and the rest of their family. I will always remember the day I met him. The jokes about his baby eating beard and how he was the reason why I met all of you.

Death ends a life, not a relationship.

    Farewell Mr Jordan.

His books opened up a whole new world to me. Prior to reading the wheel of time, I had always been repulsed by books more than 20 pages long. He is the reason why I love books of all sorts today, the reason I can inhale a book in a 15 hour readathon.

Ser, may your spirit ride the winds of the pattern and may you be spun out again and again. Your touch is golden and everlasting. You wrote to the very end, as you always joked you would - untill they nail your coffin shut.

What can you say about a man who has written an epic such as the Wheel Of Time? On how his work has in one form or another brought us all here together, that which we all take and give so much to?

    Thank you Robert Jordan

wow. i can't say Jordan got me into fantasy, but, like amelia, it was his series that connected me with many of you people. and i can't even begin to say how important that is to me.
I have given pleasure to the world because I have such a beautiful ass!

I remember how years ago we used to joke that he had better not do this to us... and now he has!

I can honestly say that I wasn't as open to reading fantasy until I read Mr. Jordan's books. I loved reading the Wheel of Time (even when it got a little dull), and like amelia and arch, loved the fact that loving the books put me in touch with such a great community of people. It's something special that the words written by one man can bring so many people from different walks of life together to form lasting friendships. Truly, it's a sad day for all of us, but at the same time, it's not, because we have eachother.

The same sentiment rests here. If not for RJ, my life would have been a lot poorer. Since the first time I picked up the eye of the world it got me on a road where I met a lot of interesting people all over the world. If not for RJ, there would have been no Quill.

Take your rest RJ. After your long struggle you deserve your peace.

I'm so stunned and saddened by hid death. The world lost someone special today. The Wheel of Time has brought me so many hours of unbelievable joy and paved the way to many freindships. I still to this day get goosebumps when I read these words...

The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again. In one Age, called the Third Age by some, an Age yet to come, an Age long past, a wind rose over the Mountains of Mist. The wind was not the beginning. There are neither beginnings nor endings to the turnings of the Wheel of Time. But it was a beginning.

An Age ended today for his wife, his family and his fans. May he rest in peace.

Okay, obviously this is horrible of me but my first thought was NOOOOOOOO WHAT ABOUT THE ENDING TO THE DAMN STORY!!! I'm sorry, I feel very badly for Robert Jordan's family but AAAAARGGGGGH! Why did he draw the damn story out so long? Hmm, I wonder if my signed copy will now be worth something.

Okay, now that I've gotten all of the inappropriate comments out of my system... RJ, you were and still are my favorite author. I wish you and your family nothing but peace. Thank you for introducing me to a world where women are recognized for their strength, men are allowed to acknowledge their vulnerability and good always finds a way to light the darkness. May the next world bring you the same joy that you created for all of us in this one. You are missed.

Good seeing you tats, wish it was under better conditions

Apparently half the book is already written and there are plenty of audio tapes and outlines for the rest of the book. And he also spent his last weekend alive explaining to his cousin the ending of the book/series. He knew he was on his last leg and had left contingencies.

Talk about writing till they nailed his coffin shut...

aww thats awesome he spent his last days letting people know how it should end. I hope the tale is in the hands of people who do a worthy job.

My coments just mirror everyone elses here. I've since lost interest in his books, but I'll never forget how he made quite a few of my teenage summers so happy, reading his books on the front porch for days on end, completely lost in the world he created. Thanks RJ!
