They called the operation a success, but the patient was left without a clue. His mind went off to Candyland, far beyond civilization. His moods became erratic, up and down chutes and ladders. When he did speak, t’was all balderdash; enough to boggle any analyst.
“Sorry,” he would mutter occasionally, with a light tap-tap upon his cranium.
Many cried outrage! This man was a tycoon! A mastermind of monopoly! He’d driven industry like a battleship, but now couldn’t connect four coherent syllables without trouble.
And thus his epitaph, “In this game of life, every risk is a trivial pursuit.”
