I have, and I liked it. You'll be waiting a while for the second installment, though.

Apparently Sanderson, in a manner completely unlike Jordan (and particulalry unlike GRRM) is writing a stand-alone Mistborn novel, "The Alloy of Law". Tipped for release late 2011.

In other news, I've finally found, purchased and read "Hero of Ages". Take that, Eyreplenh!

Ah, well. The taunts were merely a means to an end. Done well and achieved your goal you have, young padavan. Ahead, the future lies

I started Way of Kings recently, and liked the first 100 pages or so, but it was bought out from under me at the bookstore, so I can't continue until they get a new copy. I think the primary complaint in reviews of it that I've read is that it alternates between actual plot and just world-building. People had a problem with the extensive world-building without advance of the story. I can see that, and i think it's an accurate assessment, but I like world-building stuff too, so I'm fine with it.

So excited that WoT is actually moving forward as well. I don't think Towers of Midnight was quite as good as The Gathering Storm, but it was a good deal more entertaining than a large chunk of RJ's books from 8-11 or so.

I've finally read Way of Kings, and it's an excellent book. Apparently Stormlight Archive is a planned ten book series, so world building is not only unsurprising, but heavily expected by me. He's done an excellent job of conveying a world with such oddities and quirks, and yet make is seem so natural, I can't imagine this book without it. I fail to understand how the reviewers considered this a weakness of the book. Feh.

The heavy dose of world building aside, the plot does move along and set up a couple unexpected turns. I didn't feel cheated or bored at all, it was a very satisfying read. I'm very much looking forward to book 2. Anyone who enjoys this genre should read this book, imo.

And Sanderson doesn't waste time, he churns out books like a fiend.
