The site is actually loading a lot quicker for me now. Everything ok with the server or is the quill hosted somewhere?

It was pretty quick yesterday, now it's pretty slow. Network speed shouldn't matter much. It's in the same place as the previous server (Chicago). Kind off in between everything. Most of the people here are from the US, and some more from Down Under, and a few from Europe, and a few more form other localtions. Chicago is the best compromise when it comes to network speed.

The gallery is going to be a big issue. Some images are gone, and I can put them back, but they've also been wiped from the database, and I can't put the database back without losing other stuff. Hmmm....

Well, I did install some extra stuff, compared to the old server, that should speed up things considerably, and I think that's doing a great job. Any comments please?

Apart from that, I think the best way to solve the issues with the gallery and ... umm, something I forgot about, is either to install a working brain in my head or to get rid of the gallery and thing, and rebuild it/something similar. Doesn't seem to be such a big issue as the gallery is not used much, is it

The gallery. Oh joy. Truth is of course, I fucked up. Entered the wrong data path, and then wiped a lot of data from the database because no images were found. Rather stupid.
The "solution" to kill the gallery all together and start something new might still be needed, but there is another possible solution. Bit of creative thinking and we'll see how far we get...
Stay away from the gallery for now. It's unstable territory
