I'm saving dilligently and will retire as soon as I can.

Dregs, we get these deranged letters from this one aged town citizen here at work. He has his ... well let's call them "visions" of how to save the planet and they always make for a good laugh while we drink our coffee.
Make sure you're eccentric (read: bat shit crazy) when you write your letters.

I protest to the linkless word of curmudgeonly. I had to look it up in a dictionary, without anything convenient to click on. No problem, if I was retired, but I'm not.
I want to save a little extra (I've had many jobs/no jobs/silly jobs, which means I've hardly built up anything decent to live off), but there's nothing left in the last week of the month.

I object to people thinking of retirement as 'doing nothing'. Retirement is supposed to be the time when you can finally do whatever you want.
