I was just talking about this book with a friend of mine. Review looks good, I'm officially optimistic it will be a good read.

Yeah, me too. The last one was very enjoyable, and I think Sanderson has what it takes to follow through

It's his creation, I don't think anyone would be interested in Sanderson's closing without the characters and world the RJ introduced us to. When I sit down with this one, I'll pour myself a pint and sip it in his honor.

WOOT! As it happens, I'm rereading the whole series. I decided to do this, then realized I didn't have the first book. So I started on the 2nd book sometime in August, read it, then borrowed the 1st book from a friend & read it. Then I realized I didn't have the 3rd book. So I read the 4th, the 5th & finished the 6th book last night. I've started book 7 this AM (for some reason I have two copies of this one, one HC & one paperback) and then I have to see if I can get the 8th book from the library. I have 9 & 10 then I have to hit the library again for the rest. So good to read them all back to back, I don't know if I've ever fully done that altho I've read them all several times.

Gwendolyn keeps telling me she wants to read them & I keep telling her I'll read them to her when she's a bit older.

For some reason I just figured out in this reading that Rand & Galad are half brothers. I'm also trying to keep a tally on all the black Ajah members, I keep thinking I'm missing a couple.

Woah, kudos to you for rereading the series. I don't think I have the stamina for that. A lot of the books were great, but some of them were pretty terrible. I don't think I'd ever make it passed Crown of Swords. And yea, Galad and Rand are half brothers, through their mother. And Galad is half brother to Elayne/Gawyn through their father. Their father is also half brother to Moraine, making her their aunt!

As for this book, I finished off the last few chapters while I had downtime at work. This book was everything I wanted it to be and more. Without going into details, for now I'll just say a generic BRAVO to Sanderson for writing a fantastic book. Between Jordan's vision and Sanderson's ability to move the plot along, it felt like I read 4 WoT books in one.

I have theories, ideas, and hunches on some things from this book. As well as some perplexed confusion about other things.

edit -- I will mention that a specific section in the book had me laughing hysterically. I'll mention it b/c it has almost no spoiler associated with it. Mat's letter was absolutely brilliant.

I sorta re-read the series, I just skipped over the parts that bored me. Made the reading go so much faster.

I used to do a reread of the entire series every time a new book came out. And anytime I felt like rereading it. Not planning on doing it for this one though.

I'm at about 300 pages in and not going to say anything about the content (liking it so far, albeit no OMGWTFBBQ moments so far for me, just a few hell yeahs and couple mwahahahahaha's), but..... anyone else notice the amount of gramatical errors, double words and such?

    Is it more than usual?

this is what I did when I decided to reread them. But I think there are some important things I missed (or missed remembering) because they were revealed in the middle of some boring dialogue. And, to be fair, I may have skimmed the boring parts the first time I read the series too
May you have warm words on a cold evening,
