Default Arandil and the grassy plains of Ehrenhal

South of Balenoct and north/west of Neves, in the grassy plains, lies the land of the horse lords of Ehrenhal. The people of this land are known as the Ehrenon.
Ehrenhal is made up of a few scattered villages and three towns, the largest of these is the capital, Arandil. The capital is surrounded by a large wooden fence. It has often been said of Arandil that it boasts more stables than it does houses, this is obviously untrue but very close aswell, for if you were a visitor to Arandil the first site you would most likely see are the many stables situated at the three entrances. The Ehrenon breed horses, it is their trade and livelyhood, but the horses come at quite a steep price for foreigners and for good reason, as they are probably the finest in the land. Houses obviously dominate the rest of the town, and in the midst, set upon a large hill stands aloft the great castle of Arandil, Remeron. Their draws the lord of House Theodeis, ruler of Ehrenhal. The Ehrenon sigil is a rearing white horse on a field of blue.
Military of the land-light cavalry organised into Deors', (a full Deor in battle order contains not less than ninety men), are under the command of three Marshals of Ehrenhal, these are the highest ranking lieutenants of the lands fully equipped and trained Riders of Ehrenhal.
The 1st Marshals ward is the capital, Arandil, and the adjacent lords lands. The 2nd Marshal (Enias) has command over the lands to the north with his base at Elin'dae, two leagues east of Arandil. The 3rd Marshal (Imrahl) has ward over the southern reaches toward the Sylverwash, he is based at Kelen'dun, two leagues west of the capital. It is from these positions that Deors' make patrols across the lands, keeping uninvited guests away and maintaing the peace.
The Full Muster of the Riders of Ehrenhal is around two thousand. 21 Deors' .

    Default Delen'dun

Fifty miles off the kemper road on the southern face of the Black Mnts lies the city of Delen'dun.

The city is surrounded by a great stone wall, fifty feet high and twelve foot thick. Two giant towering keeps protect the entrance. Two gates, one on the outer wall then fifteen feet behind the inner. The outer one is iron whereas the inner is wood with steel reinforcement.

The city itself is one of the largest in all the land, no outlying villages except for two watchtowers, which are situated a league from the cities wall.

The people of this great city are known as the Dardenion. They try to keep to themselves but are known to be very honourable and polite. The city is incredibly wealthy, it is currently ruled by King Roegan.

They have a small but strong active military but in the event of war they have a large host of reserves to call upon.

Default The Templus Majesticus - Bloomingdale

A few short miles north of Bloomingdale, connected to the city by an obscure gravelly path, lies the site of the Templus Majesticus. A place of great power, the site is enclosed by a gigantic obsidian wall and is the home to seventy-seven temples, and little else but pathways and the occasional, and invariably grotesque, stone statue. Although rumour has it that dark and unwholesome creatures do lurk there in the shadows. All in all it covers a few square mile, though appearances can be misleading in such a place, and supposedly many of the temples are bigger on the inside than the out. In the center of the site is the largest temple of all, devoted to Reis, and it stands four times the height of the walls.

The Templus Majesticus was built many millenia ago by the first inhabitants of Bloomingdale. They were evil, cunning folk and worshipped dark gods, but they understood the value of a strong leader and constructed the site for the sole purpose of weeding out weaklings. Well, they probably wanted to impress other stronger nations as well, and maybe they drew some unholy powers from the place, but mostly it was for the testing.

And so aside from just sitting there and looking dark, imposing and impressive, the site also serves as a testing grounds for would-be rulers of the city of Bloomingdale. When the current (or is that former?) ruler dies, the true-born heir is magically drawn to the city, often against their will. No force it would seem can stop them from reaching it, for until they are inside the walls they are under the protection of the power of the Majesticus. There they undergo a serious of tests, though what the tests entail are shrouded in mystery and those who pass (failure means death, by the way) will not speak of them. If there is no true-born heir then there will usually just be a vote or a war or something.

No sane man, not even those who worship the gods of evil, would enter the Templus Majesticus today. No crazy man likely would either. Over the years it has grown in power and so has become shrouded in much darker darkness. To enter it is death. For the last few centuries Bloomingdale has been ruled by either great warriors or the incredibly lucky.

    Default Ithili and Numenial

Ithili lies roughly sixty miles south west of the great Dardenion city, Delen'dun. The people of this city are known as Iliani. Tanned skin, dirty blonde hair and blue eyes are a common trait amoung them. A peaceful people now, but history will show that these seemingly peaceful people were once amoungst the fiercest warriors the world has ever seen. Conquered in the past by the mighty Dardenions, there is only a lord now and he answers to the King of Delen'dun.

Much the same applies to Ithili's neighbour, Numenial, which lies roughly thirty miles north west of Ithili. The people of this once great city are known as the Nyrmidians, fiercest of the fierce. They are commonly an arrogant and easily angered people. Children are still scared by their parents to this day, in other cities, of the fiersome, black clad Nyrmidions.

All the once mighty temples were destroyed in the five year war with Delen'dun, as was most of the city, yet a few ruins remain still, the most famous of these is the giant statue of Hayalet subduing Toranos the god of terror with Helen See the godess of compassion with her hand upon his brow. It is perhaps the least damaged, Toranos is nearly unrecognisable however.

The huge statue is situated in the heart of the city, in the giant square in front of the palace, it can be seen from a great distance for it stands at nearly seventy feet in height.

Much the same as the Dardenions, their military consists mainly of spear/javelin men and archers, they all carry huge shields and short swords also. Bronze armour with a plumed horsehair helmet, darkened leather jerkins.

    Default Nidas (The Necropolis)

Inhabited almost entirely by the living dead, the Necropolis has long been a place feared by the still-alive, despite it's reputation for being a peaceful place of scholars and magi. It has been around almost as long as human civilisation itself, though how and why it was built is as much of a mystery as who built it. It is constructed mostly of bone, fortified by granite, and decorated in places with a strange sapphire-coloured metal. The buildings are varied in design, but most reflect those found in the cities of the living.

Few mortals ever reach it, for it is not located on any map, and the exact location is much disputed. Only the undead can locate it without much trouble. Skeletals and vampires and such. The last living person to have gone there (and returned) did so two hundred years ago. He claimed that the king of Nidas, an ancient vampire who had ruled there for as long as any could remember, had been deposed by a zombie. The new zombie queen (who had the appearance of being a young girl) had made clear to the traveler her intention train an army of undead soldiers, and wage war on the living. He left immediately, to inform the rulers of the time of this news. Most didn't believe him, a few didn't even believe in the Necropolis itself. Those who did take his word, and gathered their defense forces, needn't have bothered, for much time passed, yet no armies ever came.
