So, OK, it's a few days late, but here I am to wish everyone a merry christmas and a happy new year.

We were entertaining my bf's mom all week, which was surprisingly fine. She likes me, I like her, so yippee for all of us. Christmas morning was insane. There were so many presents. And at the end of the day, my bf's brother & his gf were all "our gift was too big to bring over, so you'll have to get it tonight at dinner". Fine, no big. He's a photographer and she's a social worker, so I guess my first thought was that they got us some weird art-piece, or something for the studio that he and my bf share for filming & photography. What I didn't expect was a 42" TV.

So... that was kind of cool. I'm still looking at my living room, where my old 30" CRT tv used to sit, holding various pieces of bric-a-brac, where there now sits a freaking ginormous flat-screen HDTV on a new TV stand... and I wonder "what on earth did we do to deserve this?" The brother went in with the mom and his girlfriend to buy it for us. It was a massive conspiracy. It's been hiding in their bedroom almost all month. I mean, who does that?!

Anyway, that's pretty awesome. new TV! Yay! Now we'll have to start thinking about a blu-ray player. And replacing all our movies with blu-ray versions. Still. Wow.

All in all it's been a pretty spectacular christmas. The on ly bad thing is that my mom gave me a beautiful necklace and earrings-set, and on the second day - not even 48 hours later - i lost an earring. This makes me very sad. I'll have to see if I can order a new set of earrings. sigh.
