It's been a long time since I've seen your smiling face.

I'm getting antsy. It's been almost a month since I went anywhere. Even that was an insanely short trip. I was, literally, in Chicago for not much longer than 30 hours. It was fun. The concert was good and the people were awesome and beautiful. But it wasn't enough. Plus, the drive to Chicago is tragic. For real.
The good news is that in about two weeks, I'll hit the road, again, for a couple days. Granted, it's kind of a fucked up schedule. Wednesday night, I'm heading up to Columbus to see these two new, small bands that I've recently discovered. After the gig, I'll drive an hour and a half to R's house so I can crash on her couch for the night. The next day, I'll head back down to Columbus to see the Civil Wars. They were in town earlier this year, but I didn't find out until a day later. After the show, R's sister is driving R down and I'm taking her home to Cincinnati with me. I'll (probably) go to French on Friday morning and then we'll head to Nashville in the afternoon. Once there, we'll hit a concert with three bands. That'll be a blast because there will be all sorts of familiar faces there.Yay.
Afterward, we're crashing in town and the next day I'm going to drag R to all the places around Nashville that I've been longing for ALL SUMMER. We'll probably head home in the evening (or possibly late at night, if I can find a good gig to see on Saturday night). Then, on Sunday, I'll drive her home and I'll drive back.
So, you know, a legitimately strangely thought out trip, but a trip none the less. And one full of lots of driving, music and friends. What more could I ask for?
...Oh, yeah. Gas money.
Also, in case any of you were still wondering who or what would warrant me wandering around to 13 gigs last year.... You should check out this super awesome video from ACL. Starting at 13:21, one of my most favorite people in the world shows up. I love banjo.
