Malcor - I think we have both just grown complacent in our old age. I can't believe I had my opportunity and didn't take it.

Fizzy, I have never read Brian Sanderson, and I never will now! What a loser! I like nice famous people *nods*

I thought Poc was the pook pool boy? He's too busy for us now.

Iceland was great! I can only reccomend it. Awe inspiring waterfalls, continental divides, geysers, glaciers, volcanoes, fjords, hot springs (albeit smelly ones),... the works.

And it wasn't as expensive as we'd thought it would be to eat and drink. Although I guess we were saved by the 1l bottle of rum we each brought with us (totally unrelated: if you're tired of rum and coke, rum with fanta isn't to shabby), since alcohol is incredibly expensive. Not that the food would be a reason to go there (not bad, but it won't be a reason for me ever to go back).

Due to the Bardarbunga volcano acting up we had to find an alternative activity for one day and we went whale watching and we got to see one get very close to our ship (10 yards tops). Even saw him/her jump out of the water.

Although, after about 5 days, the waterfalls kind of lost their appeal since we were over saturated. Also the reason why we probably won't be returning for the next 10 or so years.

Oh, and the roads are great fun to drive on, if you don't mind kamikaze sheep

I don't do grief well. And by "don't do grief well", I mostly mean that I'm much better at looking forward. I think I'm better at wanting. So now I'm looking at new cats to bring home and love. Because I loved Dracula and will always love him, but I'm also lonely for kitties, and really want a cool-looking purebred Abyssinian. fingers crossed, I'll have one by February! Found 2 breeders locally that have kittens available soon, just waiting on permission from the other human resident to go ahead and make that be a thing. Still trying to figure out if I want 2 crazed energetic purebreds, or one of those, and one regular cat of non-specific origin.

    Hi!

Actually, it's more like I battered the door down. Took me three tries to get my log in info right.

I miss you guys! I shouldn't have stayed away.

Welcome back. Don't mind the dust, we have a bad case of random dust storms. It certainly isn't from this old house sitting unattended. No, those aren't sheets over the furniture, those are...um...the new fashion in Xmas decorations! Green and red? Nah. White sheets. Leaky roof? No, no, its feature, not a bug--surprise showers!

Hang on, I need to speak to the other guests...

Happy belated Christmas, Winter Solstice, and/or Krampus to all!!!!

While I may be absent and completely seemingly random in my posting times, I wanted to make a pit stop before I go on my New Year's trip to wish all those dear and close to me a very happy and safe 2015. I know the poem below has scottish roots, but the version I am posting is a version of the tongue my brain and heart appreciate. Here's to old friends, past but not forgotten. To friends remembered and befriended again, and to opportunities to smile on good times with those we've held dear to us. I miss and love you all, and I mean that with all the squishy morsels my interior can bare.

    Quiller 4 Life

    Should auld acquaintance be forgot
    And never brought to mind?
    Should auld acquaintance be forgot
    And auld lang syne

For auld lang syne, my dear
    For auld lang syne
    We'll take a cup o' kindness yet
    For auld lang syne

And surely ye'll be your pint stowp
    And surely I'll be mine
And we'll take a cup o' kindness yet
    For auld lang syne

For auld lang syne, my dear
    For auld lang syne
    We'll take a cup o' kindness yet
    For auld lang syne

We twa hae run about the braes
    An pou'd the gowans fine
    But we've wander'd mony a weary fitt
    Sin' auld lang syne

For auld lang syne, my dear
    For auld lang syne
    We'll take a cup o' kindness yet
    For auld lang syne

We twa hae paidl'd in the burn
    Frae morning sun till dine
